Whoever made this the official uniform for women's beach volleyball was a genius. It's not like the men wear anything remotely comparable: they're in baggy shorts and shirts.

Also, holy **** @ Michael Phelps wafflecrushing his own world record, taking almost 2 full seconds off the time. He beat it by more than a full body length! That's absurd!

Opening Ceremonies was spectacular during the show. But the country parade is way too long. Nearly two hours, I think?

As for what sports, I'm going to try to watch every event. Which is easy with www.nbcolympics.com. I've already caught badminton, team dressage (the most boring sport ever), and archery on-line, not to mention all the other event I've seen on TV (including rowing, men's gymnastics, basketball, soccer, team handball (which should be much bigger in the US), and swimming. Looking forward to the first US basketball game the most, though.

What I really hate is being in tape delay hell.

They are delaying men's bball on the west coast. I understand that they don't want to put it on at 7am, but so much is lost by it not being live.

Btw, I'm very pissed that because of American TV times all the finals and interesting stuff are being shown at like 4 AM here (Europe) and all the prelim rounds and boring crap is in the afternoon, instead of the other way around which is what they have always done before.

OMG. This is crazy. I worked at the Bachman's greenhouse for 3 summers while I was in college...never met these specific Bachman's but I've met some of their family members. So it was just a random attack is the gist I'm getting from the story?

really cool sport imo - lots of fun to watch for pure "wow" factor. Same with all the gymnastics stuff actually. I'm especially looking forward to the women's stuff which is usually pretty exciting. No I didn't see her. But you piqued my interest so I did a quick search. Her name is Zeina Shaban. She's a champion table tennis player of all things.

She's quite stunning. While I was doing the search I ran into a photo of this female table tennis player from Honduras.

Note both photos are of attractive women playing Olympic table tennis. Completely safe for work.

Holy ****!

Did anyone see that unbe-****ing-lieveable 4x100 men's freestyle relay? Not only did they wafflecrush the old world record by, like, 4 or 5 seconds, but the anchorman, Lezak, came back to beat the French anchor, the current world record holder in the 100 m freestyle AFTER a half body length deficit at the flip turn! Everyone's been talking about Phelps when it comes to men's swimming, but man, Lezak is an epic hero here. He deserves to be a household name for that race.

God that relay was amazing.

After that one guy had pulled his swimsuit down and they didn't show him from the waist down for the next couple minutes, I thought he had stripped completely naked.

Hmm... normally you appear to exhibit excellent taste in women (Kaylee > Inara), but the woman in the picture below doesn't appear to be very attractive. Is this the same person?

NBC has clips of the opening ceremonies but I couldn't find a clip of the flag bearers.

Oh, Dom hasn't seen the final yet. I keep forgetting that some people are behind. Dom, just wait and see for the real deal. As awesome as the prelim was, the final is staggering.

The final was an amazing race, I cant believe he pulled that off. It was pretty magical and the reactions were amazing.

Speaking of swimming LOL at all the drama with the swimmers with the boyfriend and coach drama.

I just watched the 4x100 Men's race. Even knowing the outcome it was still pretty breathtaking to see. Especially since about 25m from the finish, the announcer says, "USA trying to hold on for the silver here." Amazing.
