Blood pressure put me on bed rest the last month when pregnant with my first. I was such a fool I actually cried when they told me. Little did I know it would be my last chance to veg! Best wishes to the expectant Mom!

The daughter thing will be second nature soon enough. One of the hardest adjustments for me was imagining myself as a role model for anyone.

First night with bumper rail on the crib, took the main footboard off this afternoon. Leah was so excited about her 'big girl' bed that she spent the majority of this evening going in and out of it.

So now we try putting her to bed and she's already walked out of her room twice...
First time it's cute. Second time she gets the warning. If I see her again tonight, the crib gets put back together. I will not f*** around on this!
She's way to cute to let her push me around. I'm doomed if she wins these battles....

Right so, not my wife, but you'll have to all just forgive me that.

My stepmother is 10 weeks along. Her and my dad are keeping it under wraps until they get further along because she lost the last pregnancy to a miscarriage around this time or a little after. So, they're waiting until Mother's Day to tell everyone again because they don't want to have to go through (again) the crushing blow of telling family that they had a miscarriage.

That said, you all will be easier for me to tell if things go wrong. I realize this isn't my kid --which is sort of the idea of the thread--, but hey, I might be a 24 year old big brother on this side of the family, too (siblings on my mom's side already).

dcasper, keeping her in her bed once she's free to roam is a tricky situation. The problem is almost any way you react you're giving her what she wants - attention. My daughter did it for about two weeks until I put one of those childproof doorknob covers on her side of the door. She HATED HATED HATED that thing. Only had to do it for two nights before she gave in and began staying in her bed. Now, two years later, the "white thing" (as the doorknob cover came to be known) is still the worst threat anyone could ever make against her.

wow....I shame myself as a writer for not being able to come up with anything close to a witty etort for that. I blame the 4am diaper change.

To others, great pictures. It is so amazing to see the little buggers grow and change right before your very eyes.

If you don't read the low content thread, I just found out a couple of days ago that I will be a grandfather! That's what happens with the little darlings. They change in front of you, get older, date, get married and the next thing you know they are starting their own family and the cycle goes on and on. Enjoy all the time with your kids because it seems like just a blink of an eye and they are all grown up.
