Thanks! I knew there had to be a logical scientific explanation.

He doesn't have short pants. The suit fits like a dream.

Things I find annoying about the escape scene:

The die is cast as soon as he leaves the warden's office, so he must leave that night. He was very fortunate that he is able to break open the metal sewage main with a big rock. I also doubt he could crawl through an enclosed sewage main for 500 yards without asphyxiating. People die from just getting too close to pits of sewage (fumes overwhelm them and they fall in).

Also the narration makes a point of 500 yards being nearly half a mile. It's 28.4% of a mile.

Rounded up to nearest half mile.

Also when he breaks the pipe the contents are clearly under pressure (demonstrated by the sewage eruption) yet they don't continue to surge, the pipe then turns into an empty gravity drain.

This was so bad I was loving the movie until this plot hole ruined it for me. Tin Cup final hole where Costner kept hitting it in the water. 3 wood lands on the green and then rolls backwards into the drink?????? What the hell was gonna happen when all those guys that didn't go for it in 2 hit wedge or 9 in for their 3rd shot????

That's right, he spun a 3 wood back into the water. lol. wtf.

It's worse than that. The ball lands on the green, stops completely, THEN starts to roll back.

And why doesn't he get closer to the far wall before making the hole? He crawls through about an extra 20 feet for absolutely no reason.

The bigger plot hole, is this. How does Tara Reid keep finding work?

If you saw Sharknado 3 right at the end

Spoiler:
They had a fan vote whether she should live or die for Sharknado 4 as her possible death is a cliffhanger

How did a thread about "great movies" come to include Sharknado 3??

Drainage for a building isn't even under pressure, it's not like water supply lines.

The tube isn't big enough to fit him from the outside but then he's inside it. Also the hole isn't big enough, probably took a lot of lightning to make it that big

Because any film with name "Sharknado" automatically qualifies.

In Castaway, Hanks is stuck on the island presumably because of the tide (surf) and prevailing wind. Seems like going to the other side of the island would solve that problem.

i's be dumbz.

so I read something and they at least addressed it by saying if he launched from the opposite side he would end up in the antarctic streams and be ****ed.

he obv still could've launched from that side to get past the breakwater than sailed or paddled back to the side he needed to sail from.

I seem to remember that the other side of the island was cliffs, which would make a launch pretty difficult, though I haven't watched it for years.

Cast Away is very very far away from a great movie, so don't you all worry your pretty heads about it.

I always had a problem with Vito telling Michael in The Godfather "whoever comes to you with the deal is going to betray you" as if it's some kind of amazing insight.

Yeah, the guy that sets up the negotiation on your enemy's territory after your head of the family just died? Sure, takes a genius to figure out that's the guy ****ing you over. Tessio was always the smarter one?

Sonny gets killed for beating the hell out of Carlo, but he didn't even hit him. Carlo just acted like he did. I mean I guess I can buy that Carlo went through that much effort to feign being hit just to have a reason to have Sonny killed. But why not just kill him without the street fight choreography? Always bothered me.
