Lol, had no idea these guys still played, let alone being in town recently. Too bad about the sound though. Sucks for FOH guy but more for the crowd. Was probably just some inexperienced guy who talked his way in. Everyone thinks they can run sound until they try to run sound.

You are correct on the reason he is still in Utah unfortunately imo.

Wish he was here in Michigan instead
No doubt. Listening to some of his other covers as we speak.

Studio is going well, thanks for asking man. I'm in more of what I would call a 'corporate' studio world these days but it's been cool. Lucky enough just to be able to get a regular paycheck working in any studio.

I might be starting a new recording project this fall with a local folky/acoustic trio. Hoping that goes through, haven't worked on an album in quite a while.

How are things at the music shop? Got any cool trade shows coming up?

Also, saw a post of yours mentioning closing on a house, congrats! What gets set up first, the bed or a drum room? Redundant question, drum room is obvious choice.

Store is doing good. Been crazy busy fixing instruments all summer long but thats typical for us. No trade shows until winter NAMM. I wish I could have went to summer NAMM in Nashville last week but it wasnt meant to be.

Obv the drums get priority lol. I close on Weds but wont be able to move most of my stuff in until the weekend so I am taking over my drums and guitars and little stuff like that first. Got to figure out some type of sound proofing tho so I dont piss off any neighbors right away . Got any suggestions?

Also, pics of bike jmitch

Nice, yeah I was wondering if you hit up NAMM.

Heavy blankets Generally most common household item to get you by in a pinch. Otherwise, Auralex acoustic foam is a great solution. More costly but is great room treatment. Sweetwater Auralex stock. Low frequencies (kick, floor) are a lot harder to control. Your neighbors will probably always hear that faint heartbeat coming from your place unless you get nuts with it.

Kick ass! Thx for the info. I really want to set my basement up into a musicians paradise, but not have to worry about the sound. I appreciate your help. I know jack **** about sound proofing lol.

Link to "acoustic treatment" section of Sweetwater. If you happened to be getting in to some construction, you could also consider heavier insulation. This obviously all depends on the location and construction of the particular room you intend on using. Years ago I remember helping on some studio reconstruction and we put in some Owens Corning 703 foam insulation to help treat the live room. As with practically everything in sound, there are a hundred ways to achieve the same result.

I have the opportunity to trade this guitar for this guitar

.

This I a beautiful instrument but I'm not a huge fan of teles. I'd probably replace the bridge pickup with a hum bucker.

I guess I'm just asking should I do the trade or what?
