Wife has one day thing to attend in tenafly. Would be first time in ny for both of us and we are there for a week. Im guessing tenafly is pretty lame to stay in, so what part of ny would be best to stay in that would give us quick access to tenafly the one day we have to be there? Likely will not have access to car at all

Glad you liked it. True, they have the best coffee outside of third wave cafes.

Well. If its not le bernadin , two of by sea. Etc etc.

I eat out like 800-900 times a year. Also switching my diet up a bit so would like to see 2p2 reviews.

The majority of my dinners are NYC casual dining so I'd be glad to contribute.

Tough without a car. I'd say stay pretty much anywhere on the West side as you'll end up having to take a bus out of Port Authority. Knowing where Tenafly is, you might be able to take the A express to 180th St and take a quick bus ride from the bus station at the GW Bridge.

Fair enough. That's a huge number btw. You probably have a book in you

Is anyone finding good meals/values for Restaurant Week? I have some free time so I'll probably try to get a bunch of lunches in.

I did Nobu today. Appetizer (sashimi salad) was sublime. Main course (assorted sushi) was above average but nothing special. Dessert was some sort of chocolate mousse, again decent but nothing remarkable.

I can never really do lunch during RW, and I find most of the dinner menus are either bad value or just not good.

I remember briefly skimming the list and thinking David Burke Kitchen and Telepan would be great for lunch. I've had both for dinner and they've been excellent.

They do a burger for lunch at Telepan that's supposed to be unreal. The smoked trout app there is very good as well.

Apologies in advance for the slight derail, but this must be some kind of record. Considering that you probably skip meals from time to time does this mean that you never ever eat at home?

I don't get cheated on many meals. So out of say 1100 meals I will only eat twice a day like 50 times , leaving 1050. I visit my mom and grandma 1.5 times a week (like today) , two thirds of the time she will cook something , so that leaves me at a 1000 . family functions subtract say another 20 , ex gf's , current gf's cooking me a meal , 30 or so. 900. I almost rarely ( I can't remember the last time I made myself something and ate it in from my kitchen (outside of fruit) , but I'll concede and say 50. Leaving me at that 800-900 number. It's not always sit down , but it's definitely not home cooked. I also rarely eat fast food. Just had to thank my mother for the he cooked meal she just served me.

Besides the fact that the budget for this must be really high, do you manage to keep your weight on check? Because eating out too much it's what usually makes me gain weight. I would estimate that a meal I cook at home has 75% of the calories I would consume while eating out.

My roommate and I had to pay 6 months security, that they still have 2 years later despite no late payements whatsoever...this is basically the worst market to find living, especially if you aren't local.

If I knew it I would never come here, but now that I choose NYU and already pay for it I have to live with it. What a life...
