So, intrigued by the commercial, I ordered the new Dominos hand tossed pizza tonight with sausage and onions. It exceeded all my expectations, even in light of the commercial. This was the first Dominos pizza I actually enjoyed eating. The old ones were dry, like they never heard of sauce before. The new ones had more cheese, better crust, and tasted good, just like they say.

Now being from a big pizza town, I'm not saying they compete with the elite establishments, but those pizzas are a different style. For a 30 minute pizza, it is far better than OK, it is very good.

The only thing was that they advertise 2 medium 2 topping pizzas for $5.99 each. I didn't want that much, and I never liked reheated (or cold) Dominos, and figured 1 medium should cost less than 2 even on sale, but that was wrong. It was actually a couple bucks more.

I don't have any stock in the success of Dominos (though I would consider buying their stock now).

Funny, I just tried to order Domino's and my local shop must have gone belly-up.

Probably a good thing as my tummy was usually upset with me for eating this crap.

I have not heard 1 person say anything other than the new pizza is good/great for a 30min delivery place

Dominos over here taste amazing but its £11 forra large ( $16 ) . We get so much sauce that tastes amazing but this makes the base very sloppy. But tastes awesome all the same

thanks for posting.
I have a dominos right around the corner, but never ordered because it was just soo bad. The papa johns had been slacking (late/cold delivery), so I went to frozen. Just not the same.
Dominos gets the next order.

Way back when, I liked dominos pepperoni and bacon with extra sauce. (the heart attack special)

do people do pizza in Romania?
Is it like Italian pizza?

I've had Italian pizza, and it's not really like American pizza. Most US chain pizza is doughy crust with a lot of sauce and obscene amounts of cheese.

Sergiu, you need to do an "ask me about being Romanian" thread.

This thread inspired me to get some dominos last night. The pizza is much better than it used to be, i used to consider dominos as the worst delivery pizza. The sauce is much better although they were a little stingy. The garlic flavoring on the crust is very good, and the cheese is decent. Overall I still prefer pizza hut and the local pizza places here, but the new dominos is a lot better than the old.

I have to say, I was impressed with the new marketing. It is very brave, and, I think, brilliant.

Not that anything on the face of the earth is going to make me order a freaking Domino's pizza, but still...kudos.

Which leads me to ask this question:

Why in hell do you guys eat this stuff? Do you live in towns where there is NO decent delivery pizza? I mean, I live in a city with ONE decent pizza place (Matthew's Pizza on Eastern), and I can still find a delivery pizza that costs only a little more and is roughly 372 times better than Domino's.

And none of the money I give the guy on the porch winds up paying for protesters to picket abortion clinics...

...and, uh, upset all of my ex-girlfriends.

I gave it a chance tonight, and it is improved. I like the buttery stuff they put on the crust. But I'd still rather have the other delivery places, or just eat their cheesy bread.

For $5.99*2 though, it's a good deal.

Nasty, please bring back the old pizza, they use the same sauce as pappa jhons

I'm surprised to even hear about any delivery pizzas using sauce anymore. Nowadays they're generally dry as a board and have little or no tomato flavor, the only moisture coming from the oil in the cheese.

I liked the new ones a lot better than the old... its still nothing amazing, but its way better than their old ones. I used to not even consider their pizzas when ordering from them, it was oven-baked sub or wings or nothing. Now, their pizza seems like a viable option again. They did a decent job on the update, the buttery garlicky crush was a nice touch, the sauce really does taste better, and the cheese seems to have a better texture. They still need to conjure up some decent pepperoni though, lol.

My mom makes one, but the dough it's something like the interior of a bread, and it's usually 3-5 cm, but it's good. The ones that you can buy are very nasty, and pretty expensive

You are not the first to tell me this.

I hate it down there, though, and can really only drag ass to that area for Arco's or Ze Mean Bean or La Cazuela. I'll give it a try.

By the way, La Cazuela is an Ecuadoran place, and it is really great. Authentic? Sure, they serve guinea pig.

Great food there, really.

Closing date on my new house in Sarasota: March 1.

My Bolton Hill house on the market: today.

I must really be rolling.

BTW, if you don't like it, they say they'll give your money back.

Note that apparently only the hand-tossed version is completely new and subject to the guarantee.

Also, hot, cold, or slightly reheated, still fine IMO, unlike the old one.
