A character does a series of things and then does them again with slight alterations showing a change in the character's behavior and/or a lifestyle change.

It would be similar to the last season of Dexter when in mid-episode, they redo the main titles where he does the same things, but since he's so exhausted, they're done sloppily.

I've been racking my brain and can't think of one. I know I've seen them, but nothings coming to mind.

Actually, that's probably the perfect one.

I'm trying to find out how to format something these kind of scenes. It's easy to just rewrite it with the alterations, but I don't know if a script is supposed to show that it's the same scene just altered for specific reasons. Couldn't find crap on google searches.

Thanks.

At some point during many Kieslowski films there is an old woman who the main female character simply watches struggling to perform routine daily activities. I forget which one, maybe someone else will recall, but at or towards the end of the film instead of watching her, she helps her put her recycling bottles in the bin. I'm too lazy to google it but yeah i think that qualifies for what youre looking for.

EDIT: ok i googled it it was the tricolor trilogy (Blue, White and Red) and in each of the first two films the main character is unhelpful for thematic reasons but in the final episode the old woman is helped...

scroll down to themes if you're interested it explains it nicely.

Not exactly what you're looking for but Run, Lola, Run.

Shaun of the Dead had a pretty humorous one that shows the titular character going through his morning routine before the zombie outbreak and after it he does it again identically without noticing everyone else is now undead.

Pretty much every Rocky movie is almost exactly the same as the one before just with a different dude in the ring w/ Sly every time and a different setting for the music montage training scene..... that may not be what you're looking for though

Shaun of The Dead looks like it would be the best example, but I can't find a copy of the script. Just a transcript.

Groundhog's Day does it pretty well. I'm just worried that since it's pretty old, some of the formatting of those types of scenes might have changed a bit.

Maybe not quite what you mean but Run Lola Run was the first thing that came into my mind.
