How I never heard the black keys before last week is beyond me.

It's been the only thing coming out of my itunes for the last couple days.

Anyone into the band: Mona? They haven't released a full album yet but they seem to be getting a whole lot of attention in Europe. I've listened to two of their singles and they have me excited for the album. You can definitely hear a Kings of Leon-type sound in the lead singer.

I'm listening to David Bowie's album Low. Some of it reminds me of my favorite Talking Heads' album, Fear of Music, although Low is darker. Both are pretty strange.

But Low is great. I especially like Warszawa and Breaking Glass.

I love Dick Dale, I saw him live back in 2007. It was the loudest concert I have ever been to in my life.

I'm listening to this new Decemberists album, The King is Dead. It's pretty good. I don't know their music that well, but I think I prefer them when they're weirder than they get on most of these songs. But I'll definitely be listening to it a few more times.

Lycia.

Darkwave band from Arizona. Dreamy and pretty and puts me in a such a weird state. It's happy and depressing at the same time. It's mesmerizing..

A day in the Stark Corner is my favorite album by them.

First 3 are from A Day in the Stark Corner, the 4th is from The Burning Circle and Then Dust.

I got this link from wikipedia...I found it amusing.

In MK Ultra Issue #1, (1995) Peter Steele of Type-O Negative said "You should be familiar with Lycia. It's dark, ambient Goth music. The last album is called A Day in the Stark Corner. I would like our next album to sound something like this. It is the most depressing thing I've ever heard in my life. If I put it on in the morning when I get up... I'm useless for the rest of the day. It makes me feel like killing myself. It's like, why even bother getting dressed when I can just slit my wrists. Such simple hypnotic beats. Everything is drowned in reverb, yet the emotion comes through so loud and clear. It's just devastatingly beautiful, as beautiful as it is devastating. That's how I want to come through."

But I don't want to listen to music that makes me want to kill myself!

Haha, it's just dark, ambient, and beautiful. It doesn't make you want to kill yourself.

Peter Steele had some issues to say the least.

Good news everyone! The Raveonettes are putting out a new album on April 5th. The even better news is they are doing a show in Boston 5 days before then and I will be there.

I'm listening to the great Carole King. One of my favorite songs is Been to Canaan.

One of the greatest songwriters ever. The way she consistently makes the lyrics fit the mood of the music is extraordinary.
