Hi! Tonight I became a hard rocker. Have listened to classic, disco, synth, pop all my life. I know them all. Time to go deeper into AC/DC, not only Thunderstruck and I Feel Safe in New York City, and some others, like Ozzy and Motörhead.

found this super interesting - probably a better measurement of tracking what's best remembered today versus what were the bigger hits at the time

really cool seeing the progression through eras and how music developed and went through various trends

also got me super nostalgic going through the phases where I was alive

Very nice video - going by 'most recognizable' is a lot more subjective than going by actual chart-toppers, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Quite a few years/songs I feel like arguing about here, but no reason to bother with that - instead I'll link the one song from that collection that I think nobody can argue about - and that's without limiting it to a year:

So I'm walking through the back-streets of Norwich, trying to get to the bus station, and by coincidence there's my friend's nephew with his family up from London stopping me. Hey, we'll give you a lift, and in the meantime let's have a couple of pints, because it's that kind of a day. My friend's sister can't believe it happened. She's suspicious. Nothing like a funeral for life imitating art.

i can not image a series of events that would result in my stumbling upon a random funeral for someone i might have met on the streets of london.
