for those unfamiliar, which should be like the entire thread

that guy Cui Jian is considered the main pioneer of rock and roll in China, he's a huge name, even played at Tiananmen Square in 1989 during the protests

I'm not sure if he does it anymore since he's getting long in the tooth, but despite being incredibly famous in China, he'd regularly tour the US playing in very small bars and clubs because he enjoyed it - had a friend who lived in DC and would watch him play at least once a year in a rundown hole in the wall that had a capacity of maybe 50

very interesting guy

As a more mature person one thing that does annoy me is seeing comments on old music on YouTube saying stuff like “Back in the day, when music wasn’t all about sex”
Of course it was, just because we are dried up old prunes doesn’t mean we should deny the young folk the right to be soft and juicy. Do they really think that this was about “holding hands”

I may be a bad person, but every time I see the name Beyoncé, my depraved mind immediately thinks “Bouncy”

She’s got a few good songs but honestly feel she is massively overrated

Well since I was a bit naive at the time the lads I was with convinced me that her dad was “Coming looking for you” , as for the nipples themselves they were pink, perky, and beautiful
Preaching to the converted I suspect, Costello is one of the greatest popular musicians, even though he is highly rated by most music fans he is still underrated.

I Saw Elvis Costello a couple of years ago. Good show.
By the time he did his old hits, the place was half empty.
They missed out.

“Gobbing” = spitting on the singer was popular in the late 1970s , Costello was not a big fan of this activity

I love Richard Hawley, especially Coles Corner, for perhaps obvious reasons.

Richard Hawley is awesome - not sure if Coles Corner or Lady's Bridge is his best album, but I lean towards Lady's Bridge. That's heavily influenced by it being the first album I heard from him though.

Luckily - we don't have to choose and can enjoy all of them.
