So funny. I just came here to post this information.

Meanwhile, how long will it take for people to stop associating NCFOM and TWBB? I mean, sure, they are the combined centerpiece of 2007's film lineup (along with Walk Hard [I am only half-kidding]), but they have nothing to do with one another.

I was shocked by how good walk hard was. I love going into a movie with low expectations and being surprised.

Jiro is the doc if the year. Only problem is it made me into a full on sushi addict for weeks after.

If only I would have waited another week, I could have spent that $4.99 on a maguro nigiri instead of an Amazon VOD rental. Oh well, it was worth it anyway.

Saw Expendables 2, a fun film good for unwinding, not great, but not bad (especially for an action movie).

Watched Super 8 last night. Meh. It had potential and parts I really liked but the overall plot, lots of stupid stuff, and just the main theme I didn't care for.

I really liked the kids and their interaction but thought the alien stuff sucked as well as the Air Force stuff and the CGI of the train wreck was just bad. But I did like the feel and mood of the town and the kids interactions. It seemed like a miss that woulda, shoulda, coulda been better.

I too thought the comparison made little sense. They are both incredible. I can only imagine someone dividing into camps because... Well, actually I can't think of any reason.

Super 8 was terrible. It was like someone took all of the recurring aspects of Spielberg films and treated them like a jigsaw puzzle, then glued the pieces together with terrible writing and terrible acting.

I could see that if I walked out of Schindler's List saying I felt no emotional attachment. But Moonrise Kingdom's characters were so wooden and blah. Boring characters I couldn't care less about. Boring plot. Everything felt too try-hard. Nice visuals though.

Super 8 sucked... big time

I just wanted to say, I'm psyched for Dredd. I don't have very high expectations tbh, but this is my favourite comic book character after Batman, and one can hope, can't one?
08-24-2012 , 04:23 PM
I'm right there with you. I even liked the first Dredd... for it's time. I just love Armand Assante as an actor.

Of course Karl Urban is just the best, everything he does is excellent even if the movies suck.
08-24-2012 , 04:25 PM
I'm just really pleased that Karl Urban said the helmet doesn't come off. It is a good indicator that they really get Dredd.

Plus the plot sounds like a standard Mega-City One story.

Wow, I just noticed we're getting it on 7th September in the UK, and its 21st September in the US.

PREPARE TO BE JUDGED!

As someone's who basically read only dredd and infinity gauntlet as a kid I've really been treated to some awesome nostalgia this year in comic book movies. Pretty pumped for dredd even though it looks like the scope will be limited to the one block.

Hell, I'm going to create a Dredd Thread and post some of the awesome artwork.

Also I'm a Dredd expert right up to maybe City of the Damned (which I realise is pretty old now)

a Documentary movie based around what one man thinks America could possibly be like in 2016 if Obama is re-elected.

Ann Balog .... producer
Dinesh D'Souza .... executive producer
Gerald R. Molen .... producer
Doug Sain .... producer
John Sullivan .... executive producer
Christopher Williams .... executive producer

makes me think about the old anarchists adage... If you want to really f*ck things up, get your act together and f*ck thing up from the inside!

I thought for sure this was a joke. What the hell?

Seen D'Souza too often misquote things his debate opponents said only moments before, even after his opponents said, "No, that's not what I said," to be very excited about what he has to say.

Yes, the story (which I've gathered from the trailer) is very similar to The Raid. I assume whilst we'll not see much Lawmaster action, it does look like we're going to see plenty of Lawgiver action

My brother is in Europe on holiday and snapped this today in Amsterdam. I assume with a sign like that the exhibit would be worth it for a fan! It is a pretty cool sign.

Hopefully this one will have a better chance for a sequel.

The Austin Powers trilogy, which doesn't get the credit it deserves as a trilogy probably because it is a comedy.
