The Master is good, not sure I'd say soooo good but whatever. Most of it comes from the amazing work done by Phoenix and Hoffman (who did an L Ron Hubbard-esque character so well it's unreal).

Oblivion - 7.3/10
Pain & Gain - 6.8/10
Prisoners - 8.3/10

Really liked Prisoners, much better than I expected, and after reading this article I realized I'm a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal, pretty impressive resume, I'd just never thought much about him.

It gets a 8 or 9 on the thriller/horror/ suspense scale

6 or maybe 7 on the all movie scale

The Time Machine, 2002

Enjoyed this movie quite a lot, but anything that combines time travel, romantic quest and an apocalyptic future has got my attention. Liked the script, the portrait of the future and the romantic quest to find the truth.

7.6/10

I liked it too, but you should watch the original as well.

Gravity is a ****ing trip man. I don't want to rate it just yet but it's a ****ing incredible cinematic experience. I didn't realize it but i was holding my breath so much that it took 5 minutes to collect myself after it ended. I can see myself watching this film 3-6 times theatrically.

Saw a Canadian film last night called Still Mine. About an octogenarian who builds his own house on his own farm, and runs afoul of the bureaucracy; all while dealing with his and his wife's aging. Surprised how much I enjoyed. Stars James Cromwell, who played the bent LAPD captain in L.A. Confidential.

Glad to hear this from you, Cro. Can't wait to see it.

World War Z

Definitely not a great zombie movie, but entertaining nevertheless. I am a fan of Brad Pitt, but this is not his finest moment... Or best choice of movie.

6.4/10

I am intrigued by Gravity. The original trailer seemed absurd, so I assumed the movie was going to be inane.

Maybe I judged too soon.

I'm really excited to see it but agree the trailers have been horrendous.

I lol'd so hard at the first trailer. It was a secret screening at Fantastic Fest and I honestly was like eh whatever I'll watch it. Hope the hyperbole bug wasn't present when I first posted about it. To put things in perspective, Gravity was my third fav film I saw at Fantastic Fest. Why Don't You Play in Hell and Blue Ruin topped Gravity imo.

Safety Not Guaranteed : Not impressed and even if I did enjoy the characters in the movie, would still not suggest it to anyone really...

5.2/10

We Steal Secrets : This documentary about Wikileaks was very enlightening on the organization, the hackers and their purposes, but mainly on Julian Assange and Bradley Manning. Very informative and entertaining.

9.2/10

Long ago, when I heard that Ron Howard was going to make a film about formula 1 during the James Hunt/Nikki Lauda era, I was extremely excited... now that the final product has arrived, I am not so keen to see it.

before a waste my money, has anyone else seen "Rush"?

I think I am more inclined to see "Gravity" now.

Ron Howard has made quite a few decent films over the years, Parenthood, Apollo 13, Cocoon, Cinderalla Man to name a few. I know he's also made some god-awful **** (Angels and Demons) but overall he's probably one of the better directors in Hollyweird.

Can't go wrong with Gravity. It's not "omg best ever" but it's a terrific film. I cannot imagine anyone walking out of the film disliking it. It's a trip man.
