My 2 Job offers:

Psychiatric Nurse:

Pros

- Don't have to bathe people, put catheters in people, and rarely have to put in IVs

Med-Surg Nurse:

- everyone tells me it will be good for me
- will become proficient at bathing people, putting catheters in people, putting IVs into people
- this particular floor is prestigious; will garner respect
- most hospitals/managers and clinics want you to have some experience doing med-surg nursing

Cons:

Med Surg: Lower Pay, a lot more stress, shift will not enable me to continue with my schooling. Also, I don't really want to be a med-surg nurse

Katy, it seems obvious to me which direction you should go.
Do what you want not what people tell you you SHOULD do or what is good for you.

I didn't make the post for its shock value (if that's what you're suggesting). It's more that the audience finds it amusing because they think it's part of the act. People would laugh at anything Cooper did, even dying on stage in front of them. I was wondering if the link is in any way redeemed by anything poetic about that.
