never pulled trigger on those dark blue 24 hour dial russian submarine watches because i wanted the domestic production not the raketa version for international sales but the paketa domestic version - but that entailed private buying from russians and i was sketched about buying a dud with no recourse so never pulled trigger

anyway, impossible to buy now since no shipping link between us and i don't think it'd be the best look to wear a russian made watch these days

so when war just started i was thinking, what if they were actually made in ukraine, turns out kiev did produce a lot of the soviet watches but not the 24 hour dial sub ones

i found this and kinda like the look of some of them

Swatch owns omega as far as i know. I always liked swatch theyre a fun watch and affordable.

Also looking at the Saturn but might get earth just to have a bright coloured watch.

yes they do... that's Omegas problem.

I tried calling my local Swatch shop (Toronto,Canada) 10 times today, no pickup.

I'm gonna go check tomorrow in person, I'll prob get 1 maybe 2.

They're not a limited edition, many of them to be had in coming weeks and months. Certainly not a collector/investment item, but if you need a functional way of telling the tine, probably not the worst!

oh, I've been there before - just go back and look - spending lots of money on various watches thanks to this thread....now, I just go with ones I like the look of, even if they're quartz, like this one. And it's cheap! No more $1500 watches for me.

Last year when the Tissot PRX came out i think it was the most talked about sub $1k watch at the time, anyone got one and what are your impressions?
I myself pre ordered the powermatic 80 version last summer and no complaints, finishing and everything seems really good value for its price.

got my watch! It's cool. Yes, the pushers are functional - the top is the stop watch stop/start and the bottom is the reset.

I have no doubt they function... I was wondering if the screw down pusher crowns were functional?

depending on condition, they just handed you 19k-20k... though prices are soft right now.

edit... I see you said batman. the prefer model IMHO. you can easily get the Jubilee bracelet if you want.

If it didn’t come as a full set with serialized hang tag and card with an RFID chip that sends you to the Rolex website when a phone is touching it then I’d get it checked out. The higher end reps of this piece are very very good. And receiving it as payment for money owed would be very suspect imo.

For anyone living in London - people being attacked for their watches has increased massively recently. My friend was got the other day and knows of 12 other people already who have been attacked. Every day we're seeing people dragged out of their cars, stabbed outside pubs etc.

I've always been a big believer in just using stuff like expensive watches otherwise what is the point but I think I'll be taking a break....
