Nice, I was just wondering if there were any independents I could get for less than $15k! Seriously, I'd love to have the Speake-Marin. Not interested in the other two.
Asking price on my Jaquet Droz grail lowered by $1k in past couple weeks, down to $10k like new. Seems like a great deal for a watch I've never seen on the secondhand market before.
Geneve was Omega's low-end line for North America. I don't watch that market super closely but I would suppose $300 would be a ballpark (and there's a lot of variance).
For those who like the IWC Portuguese Chrono but want something a bit more subtle and dress watch like with a more interesting movement, albeit no chrono , I really like the following

Yeah that is awesome, and looks a good amount better than the Portuguese Chrono aesthetically imo (and I'm a fan of those). What is it that is interesting about the movement, or is it just more interesting because it's not a glorified 7750?

Similarly, I have always really liked the Hand Wound Pure Classic from the Portuguese line.
It has a Piaget movement owing to the fact IWC didn't have a thin enough movement at only 7.3mm. 500 of these, 500 black dial - only distributed through IWC boutiques.
I always thought that I liked IWC based on pictures of the watches and whatnot but when I spent some time in their boutique and handled the watches I really came away unimpressed.
Anyone seen or have any thoughts on the Zenith El Primero 410? One of my favorite recent discoveries.

Interesting, I kinda thought it was the opposite for most, totally didn't get the appeal of the white/blue Porto until I saw one in the flesh, imo their finish is what often justifies their slightly high pricing.

I checked out the Portuguese 7-Day and didn't like the feel and thickness of it.

i felt the same way about the 7-day and chrono, very disappointing in person and especially after trying the other wattches in that price point by zenith, omega, jlc and breitling
the customizable animated face is interesting. the ability to draw penises on my friends' watches whenever i want is interesting. idk, maybe the next one or one after, if they make it thinner with like a hologram projector or something, it might replace a real watch. and that's the biggest problem, it's not timeless, you're gonna want the new one next year because it's gonna 100% dominate this one. so for now, i'll probably still get it, but i'll wear it on the other arm.
