In Brosbane where I assume you've never heard of Michael Kors or Gucci I'd give it a 7/10. Eco drive movement is cool, seems like an attractive design, has some bling. Citizen, Seiko, Bulova, Movado, etc are all pretty interchangeable. Really depends on her sense of aesthetics.
Not even joking. Had never actually heard of Michael Kors until someone mentioned it earlier itt. But then again, I'm not much of a fancy lad.

I'm fairly sure the shop I went to (generic national jewelry chain) didn't have any Michael Kors. They did have a bunch of Gucci, but I actually didn't like the look of them much.

If I was ever lucky enough to spend 6 figures on a watch, it would probably be something like this

http://www.ablogtowatch.com/mbf-lm2-...chine-2-watch/

Have always loved dual balance wheel watches from the Journe Resonance to the Dufour Duality. Its pretty much a useless complication but always found it to be a bit less cliche than that other useless complication, the tourbillon.

That Kari backside is as beautiful as the front.

i stopped by a tourneau the other day asking about the black/blue gmt

for some reason i thought they weren't available yet in the u.s., but it turns out they are except for selling out as fast as they arrive

anyway, they're supposed to let me know when they get another one, so maybe i'll try it on

Nice deal going on at Amazon right now. Spend $100 and get 20% off any watch sold by Amazon. This includes a lot of Orients, such as the Blue Mako it looks like ShipitMehr and I overpaid for! Also a lot of Seikos, such as the popular Orange Monster.

Wow, never mind. I tried the code of SEPWATCH on both those watches and it didn't work, even though they both fit the requirement of being sold and shipped by Amazon. Lame.

its a really lightweight watch with 785 features and a big digital readout that's waterproof fireproof pukeproof and bombproof. i know a guy who got shot once while saying the pledge of allegiance and his g shock flattened the bullet and saved his life.

its a $200 watch that has a barometer deciliter thermometer altimeter stopwatch timer syncs to a goddamn tower every day for accurate time. it gets rid of unwanted facial hair it gets rid of embarrassing age spots, delivers a pizza ,it lengthens and strengthens and it finds that slipper that's been at large under the chaise lounge for several weeks, it makes excuses for unwanted lipstick on your collar

It removes embarrassing stains from contour sheets, that's right and it entertains visiting relatives, it turns a sandwich into a banquet. It's new, it's improved, it's old-fashioned, well it takes care of business, never needs winding,

I was in a Steven Alan store over the weekend and the sales guy made a beeline for my wrist:

"Is that a Daniel Wellington? I really want one, great watch."
"No it's an Orient I just slapped on a nato."
(Disappointed) "Oh."

He then tried to sell me a Shinola, which I couldn't help shooting down as "one of those $500 Timex Weekenders."

We did agree that the Junghans chrono is fantastic (it's now back near the top of my list) and that the Steven Alan watches are actually a lot of bang for the buck, but it's a pity they have to say "Steven Alan" on them:

those Steven Alans look pretty nice case, dial, strap wise but I wish they used the newer Miyota movement instead of the 8015 with the indirect seconds hand.

Short video on the BBC. The man who makes £100,000 watches

Quote:
During his lifetime, George Daniels was considered by many to be the finest watchmaker - or horologist - in the world.

Working from his studio in the Isle of Man, Daniels is claimed to be the first person in history to make every component of a watch from scratch and by hand. The timepieces he painstakingly produced were said to be among the most extraordinary and technically advanced watches ever made.

Daniels died in 2011, bequeathing his entire workshop to his apprentice Roger W. Smith who continues what is known as the Daniels method of handmaking watches. Smith started his own studio in 2001, and now produces around 10 watches every year.

Each of the watches - prices for which start at £95,000 - takes more than six months for a single watchmaker to create by hand.

BBC News went to the Isle of Man to find out more about the pursuit of watchmaking perfection

So, I'm considering buying this allegedly like-new Stowa Marine Automatic for $800. This is the exact model I was eyeing before ending up going with the Steinhart Marine 38 because it was half the price and the new Stowas are so backordered that they wouldn't ship until April. The Steinhart has really grown on me. It's a great value for what it offers, which includes the same movement as the Stowa. But I do feel a little like I settled on the Steinhart when I really wanted the Stowa, and now is a chance to rectify that. If I do buy the Stowa, I'll have to go through the hassle of selling the Steinhart, and undoubtedly lose money on a watch I've only worn a few times. So I'm wondering if anyone has advice for if I go through with this transaction. He lives in Europe and I'm in Los Angeles. He wants me to PayPal him $800. He's not very active on watchuseek but he's sold two watches, one of which hasn't yet received feedback. I contacted him when he first posted this ad a month ago, but he waited until now to say he would accept my offer because he was trying to find a buyer in Europe (you'd think a scammer would jump at my money right away). Anything I should be doing or look out for?

It's not unattractive though. The way the indications are set out kinda puts me in mind of this one:

what kind of JLC is this, its sick and i cant find it anywhere.

So anyone interested in a month-old Steinhart Marine 38 worn just a few times? Guess I'd knock off like 20% from price I paid. If in Los Angeles, can meet to try it on.

So you bought the Stowa? If so maybe you should wait until it arrives or you'll might end up like Dom. You know, back on here trying to buy the same watch you just sold.
