You can scratch them. You WILL scratch them, that's how they develop character. They are somewhat sensitive to shock and vibration and magnetism, but this sensitivity is usually overhyped. I wouldn't go rock-climbing wearing one, but I think that pretty much goes for any mechanical watch, seikos are any more delicate than any other mechanical watch (and may be more durable, in fact). I'd also avoid activities such as golf or tennis where there would be sudden, sharp jolts, but lots of people wear mechanical watches while doing this stuff (cf. Rafa Nadal and his bajillion-dollar Richard Mille).
