Someone please explain me if I'm wrong.
Just a few:
- I don't like the jumping seconds hand of a quartz
- I miss the mechanical click when I push the buttons on a quartz
- I like the idea of having a little spring driven, mechanical machine on my arm
- I absolutely love the wobble of my Valjoux 7750 rotor
All this makes a mechanical watch feel more "alive" than a soulless quartz.
I'm aware that this probably makes no sense if you haven't owned a few watches yourself. It's hard to explain in words.
BTW, I own a Casio Edifice Chrono. Sometimes I don't feel like going through the little ritual of winding a watch, setting the date, setting the time etc. and I throw it on for convenience. And because it's my daily beater for work, it even gets more wrist time than my automatics.
