If a bracelet is done right it's hard to beat. But so many bracelets, even on "nice" watches, are crappy.
Personally, I think the orange monster has one of the nicest bracelets out there.
On those pieces where the bracelet is sub-par, I like thick silicone rubber straps.
Silicone is a dust attractor, unfortunately, but it's very comfy and it doesn't have that vanilla smell that natural NBR rubber straps have.
One problem with rubber straps, though, is that they can sometimes fail in weird ways. For example, if you're unloading (eg) scuba gear from your back and a strap snags on your watch, your rubber strap might get compressed and (via friction) dislodge the springbar. This can be solved with either steel tubes in the strap around the spring bar or screwed lug bars, but both of those are rather uncommon.
