I wouldn't call her character "crazy;" I think ditzy would be a better word. In any case, I came across a couple of interesting (at least to me) items after reading your post and searching for her obit. First of all, I had no idea she was married to Charles Kimbrough of Murphy Brown fame. Secondly, and oddly, IMDB erroneously has her date of death as December 31, 2015.

ditzy, yeah. I shied away from using ditzy cause the NYT obit had used ditzy. Frazzled might be good there. Or wacky.

Weird little thing: I know a guy who's around 30 who carries around a huge crush for Linda Lavin. He's a little odd, that one. Pog people here probably know who I mean.

Italian Stage And Screen Actor Giorgio Albertazzi Dead at 92.

italian-stage-and-screen-actor-giorgio-albertazzi-dead-at-92

From above link:

ROME — Giorgio Albertazzi, the lionlike actor and director who was a leading light of the Italian stage for more than six decades but is best known to global French film lovers for playing the seducer with an Italian accent simply called X in Alain Resnais’ 1961 now classic “Last Year at Marienbad,” died Saturday in his native Tuscany.

He was 92.

The son of a bricklayer, Albertazzi was born in Fiesole, near Florence, where he studied acting and made his stage debut in 1949 with a small part in Shakespeare’s “The Tragedy of Troilus and Cressida,” directed by Luchino Visconti. He broke out on the international theatre scene in 1964 playing the lead in “Hamlet” at London’s The Old Vic Theatre directed by Franco Zeffirelli, one of his many Shakespearean roles over the years.......

In 2006, aged 83, he performed the 26th canto of Dante’s “The Divine Comedy,” also known as the Ulysses canto, during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics held in Turin.

In 2009 Albertazzi played the lead in the play by Sophocles “Oedipus at Colonus,” directed by prominent Polish film and theatre director Krzystof Zanussi, which was performed in the ancient greek theatre in Siracusa, Sicily.

And in 2015 he played Shylock in “The Merchant of Venice” at Rome’s Teatro Ghione.

“He was the greatest Italian actor,” said Gigi Proietti who directed Albertazzi in “Falstaff.” “The public knew that very well, and he, too, was conscious of having the task of being the last of the greats.

I saw that bitch years ago while surfing channels looking for a good movie. I stopped and listen for about 5-6 minutes. It was all I could do to NOT vomit, just from the make-up and hair; let along the message.

She should have been dropped into a vat of nitric acid a long time ago.

I agree with Dom, 100%.

I just have no sympathy for those who prey upon the weaknesses and beliefs and hopes of others.

Muhammad Ali died. They're all dying, brutal.

Ali was really vibrant and funny aside from his obvious fighting skills. My dad always liked him when we'd see him on Johnny Carson or whatever.

Well, don't ever sit at a table with Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Daniel Coleman or Phil Helmuth. Preying on weaknesses is their forte.

Holy ****. I loved Ali as a little kid. I remember when my Grandpa bet me on, I think it was, Ken Norton and I bet on Ali. I thought I was smart, but in hindsight my Grandpa (who was a professional boxer) was letting me pick.

I grew up in his hometown of Louisville, KY, where we had a Muhammad Ali Blvd. and his image was everywhere. Boxing is a brutal sport though, and I am shocked he lived this long. He looked so pitiful when he lit the Olympic torch 20 years ago that I figured he wasn't long for this world. Hard to believe they still recognized people beating each other until one passes out as an Olympic "sport" after that.

Lol, just read that not only are they still not getting rid of it. they recently expanded the brutality to women as well. That's progress for you!

RIP Muhammad Ali. Watch some of those early fight clips, this guy really was the greatest. Rope-a-Dope is the name of many of my fantasy sports teams and a term I use often. Gotta love the balls to pull off that strategy.

So not cool to use someone's death as a platform for your opinions about their career.

What are some other Olympic"sports" that are violent or has been known to cause injury or death?
Judo
Kickboxing
Fencing
Wrestling
Anything involving a gun
Anything involving a bow and arrow
Bobsledding or any other sled sport
List goes on and on...

Oh yes, we should also protect women from themselves and restrict them from these sports, because clearly, they have proven themselves to be incapable of independent thought.

Strange thing is that boxing is dying out because its not "violent enough" for the video game generation and they need MMA to get interested. I'll be honest I have no idea who the current heavy weight champion is? This used to be something everyone knew even if they didn't follow it.

I saw most of Ali's fights. Including his last two. He lost to Leon Spinks in 15 rounds in a split decision in Feb of 1978; and then won against Leon in 15 rounds in a unanimous decision in Sept., 1978. He retired after, officially in June 1979, after having won the Heavy Weight title three times.

Ali rumbled through life. Now he's gone. He will never be forgotten.

Another factor is boxing screwed up itself by splitting up WBO/IBF/WBA/ETC.

I stopped following boxing about 2 years ago. I still like the sport, but I'm not sure who the heavyweight is now either.

Yeah, you must be even more offended about those guys who just a few days ago were criticizing the career of the televangelist.

I'm not even criticising the person who died, but the brutal industry that exploited him and gave him a terrible disease took away his grace, intelligence, and maybe eventually his life. It made me sad that they reduced my hometown hero to an embarrassment.

I seldom applaud anyone's death, but The Trinity Network is a fraudulent organization, based on theft, laundering, and threats to whistleblowers. Yes, she's not as bad as Bin Laden, but TBN did destroy some lives, and even one is one too many for any so-called religious charity.

Sports that have constant violent head impacts are different. Fencing is entirely different in the nature of damage it does to your body than boxing.
