Lol, that is funny - I'm 51. I saw that movie way back when, but I don't really remember what the actors looked like, just the general plot. Did they artificially age the actors, or did he just naturally always look like an old man? I guess really old actors couldn't act as sprightly as they were supposed to be after being rejuvenated.

They grayed his hair some, but they didn't use make-up - he just always looked older than he was. The other actors were the correct ages.

I want further elaboration.

In the years I've been viewing this thread, this is perhaps the most scathing eulogy I've seen.

No. His generous nature and sunny disposition compel him to share his valuable opinions. Sorta like the Mother Teresa of twoplustwo.

Good comparison. Plus, everybody seems to have one Ang Lee film they don't like, but do like to rag on.

Sounds like there was some form of make-up:

Quote:
In order to look the part, Brimley bleached his hair and moustache to turn them gray, and had wrinkles and liver spots drawn on his face.

Is he the same guy that basically called Neil Peart a hack when his death was announced?

I wouldn't call it a scandal, but this was a bit of a head-scratcher:

He spoke against the banning of cockfighting in New Mexico on the basis of his support of individual rights.

I remember liking his memoir A Drinking Life quite a bit. I do not think he was one of the very best writers who ever lived though, that's a laughable contention. He was a very good tabloid newspaper columnist though, I will say that.

Ben Cross, 72

Great, great actor....probably most-well-known as the Jewish athlete who won't run on the Sabbath in Chariots Of Fire. Also played Spock's father, Sarak, in the Star Trek reboot.

It's not the Jewish athlete who won't run on the Sabbath (which of course would have been Saturday for him), it's the devout Christian athlete who wouldn't run on a Sunday.

Chadwick Boseman, brilliant actor, dead of colon cancer. He was 43.

I had no idea he was sick.

Best known as Black Panther, but so, so good as Jackie Robinson and James Brown in other movies.
