I don't really care to do the research on Mallrats, but most of the people in Boiler Room had been working, and relatively known prior to that movie coming out. They weren't superstar famous, except maybe Affleck, but I don't really think this movie applies.

If you were going that route, on a much larger scale you would think Ocean's 11, but his question was more based on the idea that basically everyone was unknown, except for a couple of established people. Then, out of the movie they became known in some form or another. Most of the people in Boiler Room had pretty decent credit lists before being in that movie, even if they wouldn't have been considered mainstream famous.

This was the first film I could think of but I'm not much of a movie buff.

Top Gun had a ton of people in it

Meg Ryan was a nobody and had a small part
Anthony Edwards (Goose) was a nobody and wound up as a main cast member on ER
Val Kilmer wasn't well known back then, but obv a douche
Tim Robbins was some back-seat pilot

Tom Skerritt, Michael Ironside, James Tolkan are well-known B-listers in lots of movies

And of course Kelly McGillis and Tom Cruise both went on to be gay

I'm not sure how famous many of them were at the time but True Romance had a ridiculous cast:

Christian Slater
Patricia Arquette
Michael Rapaport
Bronson Pinchot
Saul Rubinek
Dennis Hopper
James Gandolfini
Gary Oldman
Christopher Walken
Chris Penn
Tom Sizemore
Brad Pitt
Val Kilmer
Samuel L. Jackson

Why is everyone making guesses of movies that didn't release anywhere near 1963?

Is the OP ever coming back to reveal his movie?

Believe it or not....this movie had 2 well known actors in it at the time. And I would say that 8 or 9 others from the cast ended up having careers in the movies or T.V.

Some of these ended up having BIG MOVIE or BIG T.V. careers. While some just became working actors that would have parts in the movies or T.V. that would be successful enough that most people would know their names.

Can anybody else think of any movies where they have seen this phenomenon?

The one I'm talking about came out in 1967. Anybody want to take a guess at that one?

I'd be interested in seeing what other movies people could come up with.

Shakespeare movies usually tap a lot of young talented British actors.

Everyone on that list had worked a ton before that movie, so I don't think it applies, hikeeba.

Silverado is a very good example of what FUOP was asking about, with adult actors.
