My major is graphic design. I wanted to go to cooper union but no one wants to pay the 100,000 dollars per year in total costs it would take me to attend. So I'm going to a less prestigious but still good for graphic design. I love it. I should have just done this the whole time. In another sense it is very challenging because many of my classmates have actual talent and it is something they've focused on their entire lives. As of this moment i'm doing acceptable work but not the most talented student here more like at the 30th percentile. I'm learning a lot. My first semester I got a 3.2 gpa which is very good for me. I've just started classes this semester and am studying graphic processes and typography - 2 things i currently don't know much about, although I now have the futura, bodoni, fette fraktur, and helvetica typefaces drilled into my head. Brianna is my friend.

What's it like to make friends? I was in college for nearly a decade and didn't make a single friend or have a single date. I have no idea how to do this people ****.

It's hard for some people to make friends. You've had a long time to make them. I remember telling you you should make some friends with people older than you and I still think that's true. Why do you think you didn't make any friends?

I think having something in common helps.

Lirva has problems making friends with many people he has stuff in common with. I haven't talked to him in years but this seems to be the case to me. At a certain age with a certain social ability level, it's actually easier to make friends with people you help rather than people you have something in common with imo.

I think the best way for Lirva to make friends since he lives in Oklahoma is probably to talk about computer stuff to random mexican and native americans and helping them with their computer problems.

Drawing on the right side of the brain itt. One of my faves.

Sad about Cooper Union. At one time it was free. A lot of good EEs went there also.

Bright idea: Go to Rhode Island School of Design. You can bunk with Johnny.

I'm at a good enough school now. Too late to go to RISD, Cooper Union, Yale now. FIT or parsons might not be 100 percent out of the question, I have friends who went there. But unlikely as well. Go down the list 30 schools to find mine. It also is mostly just something for me to do. Getting a degree would be the plan now. I have made a lot of bad decisions but it could be worse.

Classes start tomorrow. But I have the day off, but I get to meet the new students on Wednesday and will offer them an inspirational quote.

When I first met Brianna in one of my classes I didn't like her. In this class there is a big room divided into two sections. One is like a normal classroom and one has these graphic design stations with big desks, apple computers with 128gb of ram loaded with design software- adobe cloud, auto desk, sketch and also mats with T squares. So the first day of class we were doing introductions and she did this weird pet teacher thing where she was overly complimentary to the teacher, gave her an apple and overly interested in the subject matter being discussed. I looked forward to her sitting in the front of class with her hand raised constantly because it was like a script with a stereotypical teachers pet character.

Over time I learned that she is not like that. Rather than sitting in the front of class she sits in the back. Rather than constantly answering questions she would often ask questions from an overly concerned perspective. Studio class is 5 hours long. She would ask to be excused in the most polite way possible, then leave for like... an hour. She once came back from break and asked our teacher if she could help her do her signature and insisted she didn't know how to do a signature. Finally prof says " how do you sign documents, then that's your signature." but she insisted she didn't know how to do a signature. She would often do nothing for three hours then progressively shift gears to faster and faster speeds getting things done primarily during the last 10 minutes of class.

I knew I liked her when we had a major project due, we had three weeks to do it. Most people had of course put the final touches on their piece a week ago. Now being a great procrastinator I had been up for the last 8 hours doing my project at the very last day. One by one we were called to do our presentation. She was in the back of class sitting by me with a half way completed project, furiously measuring, trimming, and drawing. She finished her boards exactly as she was called to give her presentation and sold it very well.

She is a terrific illustrator.

Hard work. The only way to commune with the Godhead.

God has no head! I’ve met that slimy fraud and it’s all smoke and mirrors and rambling utterances to impress the ignorant and gullible!

Believe in Zeno; I’m real, responsible, and respected!

I always thought It was Zeno. He is vindictive enough, He hates humanity, and He seems bent on destroying the human race. Zeno for God! He has my vote!!!

Tangentially, Donald Westlake wrote a great book called Humans. In it, God gets bored with people and decides to wipe us all out. The Devil finds out about it and realizes that humans are the most fun he has, so he sends his #1 fiend to Earth to outmaneuver God and save us.

So it's hard to say which side Zeno is on sometimes. If he didn't have us, where would he go to burn books? Think about it.

And read Humans.
