Not sure if it was deliberate or not, but Martin's stance in pining for the girl while she's talking on the phone is so Chaplinesque. Supposedly he has done this bit at parties over the years (one would imagine it is more of an X-rated version) and agreed to to it for Carson during the last week of his show.
