Look, I've been in a total funk for the past 2 years. I've not gone swimming in over 2 years. I'm pale as Conan O'Brien at this point. It's frightening to see! When I'm not in class and not in the psych ward, I'm sitting at my computer (just as I am now) posting a bunch of silly chatter. I should be out tanning but I'm not. So there you have it, THIS is the kind of girl who waits until August to buy a swimsuit, when I'm told we're going swimming this weekend, when there is very little left to choose from in the department stores!

I think this is the most sensible thing. My sisters don't care what I wear, obviously, but my s.o. hates me to wear something that looks matronly (is that the word?) or unflattering. He likes to pretend I'm a hot young thing

Wookie's 2nd attempt:

First suit - eh, nothing really wrong with it but kind of bland.

Second suit - That little jewelly thing looks like it might hurt.

Third suit - OMG Wookie. Again, with the weird material/design at the hips. If you have hips you want to DE-ACCENTUATE that area not call attention to it.

Well, yeah, except that it highlights how WIDE the hips are then.

There's a reason all the models in the pics with those kind of swimsuits have basically stick figures (i.e., they have no hips at all).

That model isn't all that big on top. Yeah, she's anorexic, but that seems like a pretty modest cut on the bottom.

I'm still loving the very first pic that Wookie posted. You may be right about it, Hobby, I'm just not sure. I think it would work with my figure.

What kind of swimsuits are best for girls with wide hips? Can you post some examples?

I need a little more coverage, Wook. You'd have to have the figure of a teenager or anorexic to pull that look off. I'm not super skinny in my hips and stomach you know. just sayin. Let's be honest here, there's some fat on my hips

Why do you want to draw attention away from the hips? Seems like a fine thing to draw attention to because if anything, it might slender out your torso even more. Seems like a good thing in terms of going for what a male wants to see, which is katy's goal it sounds like (well, one male.

High-cut leg. Dark bottom with a light top (or if the same color, a darker color). I'm still looking for some pics that are decent but not having a lot of luck.
