Crap. I hover between a 34 and 36. I need to lose weight.

Congrats, DB!

Geez. I am 6'3", 217 as of this morning, and I can't get into 34s.

hah, I bought some 36" trousers today to get a second check. Couldn't even do them done up, but I'll probably get in them in another 10lb

My jeans must be cut large.

6'3" 240 with a 34" waist sounds almost not possible. Unless you were very strong like Tim Tebow or something but he probably doesn't even wear 34s.

I rocked 36" jeans when I was 6' 222 (peak) and just recently got back to my old 34" jeans now that I'm down to the 200-205 range.

I still have an old pair of 33s or 32s (can't remember) in my closet from 6 years ago when I got down to 169. I look at them once in a while and die just a little bit.

I was a 32, up to around age 40. I'm 5'10. I was probably about 170 then. Wouldn't mind getting back there again, but I'm not sure I'll be able to.

A third of the world is obese and a third of the world are starving.

The fat ones are eating the skinny ones food.

If you decide you want to, just diet until you get there. It's not THAT hard. You just have to make it a priority, like any other life goal. We're around the same age and I'm back down to my high-school jeans size, if that helps any.

I know...I'm just not sure if I want to make it a priority.

But... don't you want to be prepared in case you get caught up in an outbreak of summer pool parties? DON'T YOU????

I'm definitely wearing my 33" jeans to a pool party if I can fit into them.

WRT the morbidly obese model I had to laugh when they said "she works out four times a week with a trainer". Not because I don't believe her (you can work out and be fat if you eat like a horse) but because they included it at all.

It was supposed to say "She works out 4 days a week with a tray'n'er hands."

A tray of fried buffet comfort food.

Or maybe she works out 4 days a week with a [Meghan] Trainor.

I have a friend who is probably a size 14 or 16 who teaches Zumba 4 days a week and does those Zumba marathons. It's certainly possible to be large and capable of reasonable cardio stamina. She just likes bread, cakes and beer too much to drop the extra weight.

The "body type" **** is most annoying. The difference between Kate Upton and Kate Moss, yeah sure, those are different body types. This is just a morbidly obese person.

Yeah I remember a guy who was always on the treadmill at my old gym. Had a very sizable gut. He was still on that treadmill a year later, with a gut of approximately the same size. I'm sure his cardio improved, but all the health problems associated with excess weight did not.

Yeah, these people (and there are a bunch of them) always strike me as odd. They go to the gym religiously, but they look exactly the same (i.e., bad) year after year. You'd never guess that they spend any time in a gym at all. Many of them pay trainers that whole time.

Maybe they'd be even worse off without spending all that time and money... but you'd think you'd want to see SOME kind of results.

The obese model:

If she is helping people feel better about themselves, then good for her and them. I'm not planning to have sex with her, so I don't see why it should affect me.

Because helping fat people feel better about themselves is not OK. They shouldn't be fat. It affects me both in the pocketbook (health care) and visually (gross). Also occasionally spacially and odoriferously.
