Forgive me for not remembering, Klavs, but what was your reaction when Casablanca was chosen for color-in-the-title?

Casablanca is a stellar pick. Is black the combination of all colors and white the absence of color?

Black is the absence of colour. White is all colours combined.

I thought it was clever.

As I said, I've stopped caring considering how much I got shouted down for it, it's not worth it.

For non-animated film with an animal in a prime role I pick:

Umberto D (1952) B & W; directed by Vittorio de Sica, from a story by Cesare Zavattini. Many of the actors were non-professional, including Carlo Battisti [Umberto] in the leading role and Maria-Pia Casilio [The Maid]. It tells the story of Umberto Domenico Ferrari, an older man in Rome living with his dog Flike and trying to keep his room on a small state pension, but the landlady wants to drive him out to fit her social lifestyle.

It is story about what it is to be human and how to keep your dignity, dog and all.

This is a very well done film that set the stage for many other Italian and French films of the 1950’s and 1960’s.

A film where apparel is central or important, I draft:

Pop Goes The Easel; (1935, B&W) The Three Stooges

As seen by the progression in the stills it is impossible to believe that the clothing is not central and important to the plot. Whatever it may be.

I know you're done with the issue, but I was just curious:

Surprised you thought it was clever and didn't say, "Blanca (white) isn't a colour, it's all colours combined!"

Sigh. Ok. If you want to continue the debate.

At least white has colour in it. Black does not.

End of discussion on my part.

New Wimbledon rules: All participating players must wear clothing that has all the colors in it.

Goddam, John Cole, people really do think you're being sincere when you're being sarcastic.

Dammit,The Mummy, Bride of Frankenstein, and (especially) Fido were my go-to zombie picks.

For my non-animated animal movie, I go with Harry and Tonto.

Write--up on this and Dog Day Afternoon to come.

I think you should have 10, so add Office Space to that list (which you did pick, even though it seems you forgot), and you're good.

I like it when people pick movies I saw during their original theatrical run.

Couldn't find "no country for old men" in the thread. Was that a clothing? Western? Someone removed the "owes" part but didn't put the movies in - I think I have them in the right spot (except for No Country)

Then you should have loved BrokeDonk's pic of Napoleon.

(I guess what I'm trying to say is, you're old.)

Guys, I'm so sorry I've dropped the ball on my own thread. But I'm drafted out. No more picks for me.

I will still make rulings, though.
