The Betrayal - Nerakhoon
Stopped watching it after 22 minutes, unless someone tells me it is getting way better after that, I will not bother to finish it.

I watched Jesus Camp last night.

It was equal parts funny, creepy, alarming, and downright scary.

Grunch: "Citizen USA: a 50 State Roadtrip" was absolutely amazing to me. I wish people from every country could have the opportunity of seeing their land from as many fresh eyes. Worth seeing even if you are not American as well, and come to think of it I would love to see documentaries from every country through the perspective of people that just moved there. That would be something.

+1 Jeebus Camp was a really interesting to say the least in the ways mentioned in the previous post.

I saw Collapse last night. I'd recommend it. Its fairly simple.

A middle aged man who has been doing journalism for the last 30 days (and is quite interesting/verbose), discusses the "collapse" our world is witnessing. Speaks about everything from environment, politics, the financial meltdown, war, oil, and his life. It will definitely be eye opening to some, a sad reminder to others, and complete bull**** to the ignorant.

I definitely recommend watching this one if you haven't seen it already. I've watched it >10 times now and it never gets boring for me.

I watched it multiple times as well, glad I'm not the only one. Would kill for a follow up.

Spurious, I think Bastards of the Party is on youtube. Not great quality but not bad either.

Yeah found it there, solid documentary, nothing out of the ordinary, although it does tilt me what white people have done to other races.

tbh, I am not too familiar with specifics, but yeah, the things I know about do tilt me.

But I am more familiar with American history compared to East Asia.

i watched catfish last night and really liked it. i asked el d had he seen it and he said 'no, it looked really really dumb'. they did have a misleading ad campaign so i don't know if he's referring to that.

it's about a photographer who becomes online friends with a young artist and her family via facebook. anyway, the film is better the less you know, so if you are interested, i would not go googling it further. also please use spoiler tags if you are going to comment on it.

As a belayed 15k post, I went through the entire thread and wrote down every mentioned documentary, sorted it and made a pdf overview file.

Obviously, there are going to be flaws and mistakes in it, but should be fairly accurate for the most part.

It's on FileServe, but if someone has webspace to host it on, go ahead and do so.

I loved and bought the first one...the only way you could get the second one in the USA was to have Oprah as a narrator instead of Richard Attenborough. fffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuu I didn't even watch it.

If you liked Restrepo then you'll like this documentary that follows the British Marines in the Helmand Province Afghanistan in 2006. 8 of a must see. This documentary takes you 'into' the rubble. It's only 58:58 I've never really seen the British side of the war in Afghanistan and this movie does a good job of presenting it. There's even laughter in the movie at 30:55 when the Marines are in a fire fight and one of the Afgan Army guy Jumps out on the roof and starts firing at the Taliban, and no sooner than he's 'in the open' do the bad guys return fire and shoot thefrickingmagazine OFF his gun. And he laughs about it! As does the Marine that shooting this home video. Then at 32:00, it's like......GoNE. And can you imagine being that marine at 50:00! This could have ended very very badly for this marine if he would have been in close combat. I'm sure when it happened......his heart STOP!

Here's a few links that will get you up to date on the 'happenings' as of late. http://www.daylife.com/topic/Helmand_Province (just 1 page)

And this one is picture view of Camp Phoenix (The United States Marine Corp is now homed here.) http://blogs.sacbee.com/photos/2011/...ince.html#more (another 1 page of scroll pics)

And now, for my feature presentation I give you.......... http://www.free-movie-page.com/watch...le-For-Helmand

And I only ask that, when you get to the end, at the 56ish mark when they start showing those young men. That didn't make it home. Please put their pic on pause and take a good look at these young, strong, brave, forever heros. Just stop and look and try to imagine what type of person he was, wonder what it is he wanted to do with life, Did he have a family? Does he know he (or she) is loved by soooooooooooooooooo many people and that he or she is a Hero Forever?

This is a really good movie and i'm bout ta watch it again.
