does anyone have any thoughts on the ergohuman?

http://www.thehumansolution.com/ergohuman1.html

it seems to get decent reviews and is in a pretty sweet mid price range.

What would be the best chair for around 500?

Yeah, it's this one in espresso. Getting the upholstered version made all the difference for me as it just kind of swallows you in comfort. I've been watching Netflix in it and have definitely fallen asleep a few times.

is it redder in real life? it looks brown or black in the picture... the swatch on that webpage looks really red

I saw all four colors and they look nothing like those swatches. Mine is deep dark brown, no red at all. Cashew is light beige, like a real cashew.

To give you an idea how off those swatches are, look at the 2nd thumbnail under the pic. That's the cashew!

One more thing...if you're thinking about getting one you can get the tax taken off with a prescription for it. I had my chiropractor write me a prescription. They also have 10-15% off sales, which is when I bought mine. Ended up being like 1700 flat, plus a delivery charge.

I bought mine (see posts above) refurbished from this place.

The only refurbished part is the base (and it looks no different to new imo), the upholstery is all new. Worth taking a look if you're considering one of these reclining chairs.

The model I have has an optional side table that works Ok as a mousepad spot.

I will add that the upholstered version for some reason does not come with a lumbar support roll like the other versions do. I didn't think it was a big deal in the store but when I got it home and sat in it for an hour, my back started to hurt. I started using a memory foam travel pillow I had and it works great. But an extra head rest would probably be perfect as well.

i just got my embody a few days ago (im in the UK)

bought from www.tsunami-axis.co.uk

was like £968 inc balance fabric

you wont find anywhere without a 2 month lead time since theres nowhere in the UK that actually manufactures the chairs, so they have to be shipped in from america. Mine took 7 weeks but its worth it!

not a bad thing to say about the chair except mayb id have liked a headrest for when im just chillin' in the chair but for playing poker its brilliant tbh.

I've had my embody for about a month now not surprisingly I've played 90k hands this month. Incredible chair I feel great after hours of grinding. Only complaint is no headrest.

For the site I mentioned they said we are not authorized Herman Miller dealers. What does that mean? I'm about to buy a aeron chair from that site.

I saw earlier posters asking about the size of the Embody. My family's business has one that we're test driving, and I love it -- I'm about 6' 1" and weight 170 pounds. You'd have to be much, much larger than me to find the chair uncomfortable merely because of size.

Some of the earlier comments focused on the rhythm versus balance fabrics. Can anyone comment further on that? Is the balance worth the extra money? Based on what I've seen at the showroom, I can tell the difference but not ascertain if one is clearly better.

In addition, I'm debating between a red chair and a black one. I'd prefer the red but worry about it getting permanently dirty over time. Can anyone speak to whether the colorful chairs tend to pick up a lot of dirty or other stains? I asked this question a few days ago in the Ars Technica forums but didn't get a lot of replies.

Thanks very much for any thoughts.

Don't remember but the more substantial fabric which I think was more expensive, well that was better. Just felt better, don't remember details tho.

smartfurniture.com has the same promotion but it comes out substantially cheaper because it looks like they offer two upgrades for free (casters, aluminum base)

Got the Embody today and so far it's kindof uncomfortable. It wasn't like that when i sat on another Embody chair at the store. Feels like few springs kinda stick too hard to my lower back. Will it get more comfortable as it adjust to my weight? Maybe the this particular chair is defective?
Thoughts?
