Always fun to play spot the hooker around Chicago hotel bars/restaurants

thanks for the schwa tips. my friend got through today and they said "yeah we were supposed to have the res book opened for december, sorry we're losers, try back tomorrow we should be ready"

after reading this gq article that's not so surprising: http://www.gq.com/food-travel/alan-r...harlie-trotter

reminds me of modern family ep where the older sister is teaching the younger to be more popular by never answering the phone, also no idea how he doesn't bring on a partner to get him into bigger/better location w/ wine, seems like he could literally do nothing and be making 2x or so the money

i've heard of logical not-selling-out reasons before, but this guy just seems crazy

Try Goodwin's on Franklin just north Randolph. Much better than the over-rated Perry's Deli across the street.

Monk's at Lake and Wells. Very good burgers and other bar food.

Anyone near west loop/river west/downtown or whatever PM me if you wanna grab a beer, still don't know many folks in the area.

Also I would be interested in setting up a 2p2 meetup early this fall if we can get an interest list going.
Hey, I just moved to Chicago 3 weeks ago and I would be very interested in a 2p2 meet up. I live in downtown by the way.

Anyone from Chi know anything about the club called Underground? I met the owner a few weeks ago through a mutual friend, he told me to give him a call when i wanted to go up there and me and whoever I wanted can get on the list and walk right in past the lines...I was planning on getting a bunch of girls and heading up there, just wondering if anyone knows anything about it ive heard its pretty trendy and there are some celebs who hang there occasionally...thoughts on Underground?

I went there a couple Thursdays ago for DJ Tiesto, and even though a friend of mine knows DJ Tiesto and we were "on the list" or whatever, we still had to recruit a few girls to be let in. So, the ratio is great, but I remember it being kinda small with not much room to move around. It is a great time though.

If you like clubs then it's probably the same as any other one you've been to. Hot, small, overcrowded, over-priced drinks. Underground/Enclave/Bon V...all the same. Girls dressed slutty, meatheads and wannabees. I mean he really isn't doing you that much of a favor by letting you jump the line to get in. I've realized you just gotta spring for bottles/table to have an excellent time at these places. If he'll hook you up on that front then grab the girls and head in.

On an unrelated note I'm going to my first Bulls game tonight! Holla.

Underground and Sub51 are the only legitimate nightclubs in Chicago imo. Skipping the line is pretty key at Underground if your not getting a table. There's not much chance your going to get in on the weekend if you don't have a hookup or a table.

Spybar is good for DJ's and sound but in terms of hottest chicks and best ratio, UG, Cuvee and Sub51 are tops. They are also the 3 hardest places to get into on a busy night. I mean, its all relative to who you know but generally, those are the big 3.

is it really hard to get into any chicago places? i've always heard stories about how it's impossible to get into places even if you are going to spend a lot of money but it just seems hard to believe. i have no experience with this in chicago as i never go to clubs but in LV, NY, LA i have never had much of a problem with this.

granted, if i'm at a club i am usually getting a table, but i'm always picky about where we are seated and refuse to wait long to get anything. it just always seems to work out...what are people doing that can't get into these places?

green,

i assume they're showing up broker, cheaper, and with fewer, less attractive girls than they say they are after the fact.

I'm not trying to sound conceited, but I personally have no trouble getting in anywhere because I know a lot of people in the industry.

But from what I've seen, an average guy looking to get into any ultra lounge or club will definitely have trouble getting in, especially if its Thurs-Sat.

I was at underground once and they would not let this guy in who was with 4 decent looking girls. They let the girls in, but told the guy he needed to buy a bottle.

And as far as money is concerned, ~70% of the time you can get in buying a bottle, 99% if you book the bottle earlier. There have been times where they just don't have any tables available if you walk up at midnight on a Friday or Saturday. Also, with bottles, most places will only let you bring in about 5 guys or so per bottle.

Easiest way to get in anywhere is to slip the bouncer a 50 or so. But I would guess 95% of people out there aren't willing to do that.

Also, the more exclusive places keep a better girl to guy ratio for reputation purposes, so its hard for guys to get in even if they wait in line and pay cover.

Places also don't let shady/broke/dirty looking guys in to keep a certain image. They'll find the lamest excuse just to not let you in (sneakers, tshirt, etc.)

And apparently black guys at some places - http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?sec...cal&id=7751837

heading to CHI tmrw evening for a friend's bachelor party. we're staying near soldier field and don't have much planned.

basically just looking for good food and drinks. not looking to "ball out" but we do have good taste in beer and food. most of us are hugged up or married but not opposed to finding some strange.

bluntly speaking, i want to drink heavy, eat well, hold a conversation (no clubs), see some ladies, and find some party goods.

squash, since you guys will be in the loop, you can pretty much get to a lot of places. I'd recommend checking out the bristol in wicker park for eating. They don't take reservations, so get there early, especially on a saturday, but the food is quality. If you are looking for a good place to drink, take the blue line over to logan square and try revolution brew co. They're a gastropub and have some real good food as well, but their beer is what they specialize in. I generally prefer their IPAs and ESB, but it's cool to sample through all of their beers
