I always enjoyed Rocks over near Broadway & Cornelia in East Lakeview but really there are 100 places in Chicago that fit your description

Lew, if you are a fan of any team in particular, there is literally at least one bar for every team in the city and you can probably Google where your team's is. Otherwise yeah, there are 100s of options for general viewing.

Thanks. I actually thought about that and found a bar, but I'm more interested in being comfortable and having a good spot to view the game than being around other like-minded fans- I get plenty of that at home!

I like Fifty/50 or Cortlands Garage. A non crowded sports bar on sundays is actually Benchwarmers on North Ave cuz it's a little away from everything

woodie's near north and wells is another good option. it's my preferred bar on game days where i'm unable to snag a table at pourhouse or benchmark.

For everyone recommending sports bars-- are the ones mentioned good for watching a wide variety of games? Last year I feel like I ended up at more than a few bars who had 30 TVs, ~25 of which were showing the Bears game. This was infuriating.

50/50 is definitely good for watching games. Fratpour, I mean Fatpour also will have a variety of games on too (though it can get packed and especially douchepacked)

And for all of us Cemitas Puebla lovers, they are opening a temporary place in Logan Square right across from Scofflaw. They are doing massive renovations to a place in Humboldt Park, but will have the spot in Logan Square open by October they say.

What this means is that I will end up indulging in midnight cookies and then walking across to drunkenly buy a delicious Cemitas

Oh man, that place will do so much business

So the plan is to have 3 locations? West loop, Logan, Humboldt?

Just went to the one in West Loop for the first time a week and a half ago. Thought it was good, but didn't quite blow me away. I got the Al Pastor Cemitas, did I misorder maybe?

Also, echoing the 50/50 love here. I think it's far and away the best bar food in Chicago. They don't have quite enough TV's on the main floor to be a good NFL bar given that half of them or more are usually on the Bears game, but for a SNF or MNF game it's great.

No, the Logan Square location will shutter when the Humboldt Park location opens next year.

No, that's one of the better items, in my opinion. However, my favorite thing to order from CP is the taco arabes (I'm talking 2-3 at a time plus a cemita). Tremendous bang for your buck. Keep in mind that I'm talking about the old North Ave location's prices. They were $2-$3 cheaper per item than the West Loop location. That has to factor into your experience.

I do wonder if the Logan Square location will truly shutter as planned. They are picking an amazing location and I can only see them doing major business. I like threat they want to keep true to their Humboldt Park roots, but money does talk.

Anyone else tried Small Chevaul yet? Went opening weekend and, besides the long wait, was pretty friggin awesome. Obviously not as good as its big brother, but a pretty small step down imo. Even the negroni was v decent.

My only complaint was that the shake machine wasn't working, ha

I may try this out because I got lucky & my game is on after the Chicago game that week and is one of only 2 4PM games. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

I work a couple blocks from small Cheval. Went a couple weeks ago for lunch. No wait, super quick service, which is a huge benefit to working where I do. (big star too!)

Thought everything was fine. Burger, fries, beer. Nowhere close to au Cheval on either burger or fries. Smaller burger, less topping options, less exciting topping options. More in line with a pretty good to good bar burger (I had bacon cheeseburger), less in line with "gourmet" burgers like the big restaurant. The au Cheval fries are also awesome, while these were just pretty good fries.

Patio was awesome, though, frankly. I'm guessing it gets super terrible at night?

So yeah, I'll probably be back again for lunch, but idk if I'm super excited about it for more than convenience, patio, shakes?

Still have never been to Au Cheval.

Every time I've tried it's just been too long of a wait and we've given up and gone somewhere else. Need to just pick a Sunday or something and commit to having a 2 hour wait.

To be fair, I am not a huge burger guy so I might just be out of practice. Citanul's review is prob more trustworthy than mine

Does anybody have a home cleaning service they could recommend? Looking for one and have tried out a couple different places that didn't quite live up to expectations.

piccolo sogno was pretty good but that may be higher standard than you're looking for

Fan of Le Colonial.

For Italian, Piccolo Sogno is awesome, maybe a little more upscale than what you're asking for.

I also like Rose Angelis in West Lakeview. I used to like Cocello over by East Bank Club quite a bit, but it shut down a few months ago

If Piccolo Sogno is too high end for what you're looking for, Formentos rocks. If you want something a little more neighborhood-type, I can't speak highly enough about Briciola in Ukie Village.
