ha, yes, very little. ok ok I have been properly shamed and will have to do a tour of the mexican joints in these areas.

On a dif note, went to Momotaro again last night and I have to say that the A5 wagyu dish there is so ridiculously good. Prob the best thing I have eaten in quite a while

Not really. It's insanely small, so it gets packed fast.

L'Patron is pretty great, but not a fan of their chicken. For whatever reason it was very subpar. Stick with the Carne asada.
Also, try La Pasadita. There's locations in various places

i ate there a year ago and thought it was amazing (byob and slightly overpriced food but i loved it). definitely on par with the best mexican food that i ate living in SD and Rosarito.

now i'm not even sure they are still open. they switched locations and it's tough keeping track on google if the new location still exists. and i have no other reason to want to be in logan square unless someone else has a good mexican recommendation =)
I moved last July to where Chilapan was allegedly located and while there is still a (faded) sign up on the building last I saw, the restaurant is definitely no longer open. My go-to Mexican places within walking distance are Las Asadas and Super Burrito.

L'Patron is excellent but too far to walk from my building. Taqueria Moran, by the California blue line stop, is also one of the better places in the area.

Not a fan of Arturo's Tacos or Lazo's Tacos at Western and Diversey but they are open 24 hours so there's that.

Arturo's and Lazo's are always mistakes and usually happen when one is **** faced

Went to Acadia in South Loop last Saturday.

Came away very underwhelmed to be honest. Girlfriend and I went, we split everything so I got a taste of 2 of the smaller dishes and 2 of the larger dishes. There were some interesting flavors in there, but to be honest the best thing we had was the duck breast, simply because it was a perfectly cooked piece of duck. The different twists and interesting ingredients were pretty hit and miss for us.

The other issue I had was the service. We started with cocktails then had wine with dinner. We both finished our cocktails and had empty glasses for like 10 minutes or so before anybody asked us about it. I am normally pretty generous about service, but when a place takes the attention to service that they do, having a lapse like that is pretty poor imo.

Just thought Id drop this in here as well. My brother's dog was stolen by a man out of his apartment last Monday. Here is the current relevant info. This occurred in the west loop between 1:19 and 1:36pm Monday May 18.

Feel free to share, were just hoping to catch a random break.

Im not really sure how much Im supposed to say, but yes it looks rather personal and planned. The guy knew exactly which apt he was going to in a large building and waited in a car until the exact moment the dog walker left for the day.

Ah this is unfortunate. I had good service when I went there but it shouldn't be inconsistent at all so that blows. I enjoyed the food but I'm not sure it's somewhere id go again. We also had 2 small and 2 large plates and dessert.

Pj that is awful. Gl.

YES! The dog was dropped off at an animal shelter a few hours after someone thought they spotted the man from the pictures, so were thinking he got scared about all the attention. Thanks to anyone who shared stuff, its pretty crazy how spread this whole situation got in a very short amount of time. I kept finding posts on new sites, all for my brothers dog. Very cool and a happy ending (Though hopefully we still find the guy)

Tried Mash in Lincoln Square the other night. Used to be Bad Dog Tavern I believe.

BBQ was mostly decent, although the brisket was not good at all.

Had the ribs, a bunch of appetizers (shrimp, wings, burnt ends which were amazing), fiancee had the brisket which is how I know it wasn't good.

A few pretty solid cocktails too, the one in particular that everyone enjoyed was the Garden Rye (bulleit-based). I had the Smell The Roses Shandy, which is a shandy based cocktail with four roses small batch. Both very good and worked well.

The main gripe I'm hearing about the place is the wait time for patio, and supposedly spotty service. Neither of those things were an issue for us, although we sat inside.

p.s. congrats on finding that dog, I saw it pop up on ABC news feed on my facebook, knew it was only a matter of time.
