I've been on a bit of a music binge, and found the heavy heart, original sound (?) of Eddie Vedder. Anyway, I thought it might be cool to add to MTV's Unplugged list.

What would you add?

Was going to say these two bands. Soundgarden would of been a good choice to have on the show.

fantastic version of an old, old, old classic. Probably the best recording of it I've ever heard, and there are a LOT of them.

Thanks for those links! Especially: Pearl Jam!

I think I still have a VHS copy somewhere..

So, what's this thread for?

bands whose acoustic gigs we enjoyed?

bands that we'd like to see do an acoustic gig?

or MTV Unplugged sessions we'd like to see released as albums?

Anyway, I've always enjoyed Tesla's Five Man Acoustical Jam (did not know they appeared on MTV's Unplugged as well...until just now.):

and Guns N'Roses '87 acoustic gig at CBGB'S:

Aside from PJ, I thought AIC, Nirvana, Clapton and Bob Dylan were all great.

i think he was just angry at brendan o'brien (organ) for butchering dignity on greatest hits vol. 3.
but yeah, more tracks like those you mention would have been nice. the royal albert hall bootleg is a great unplugged set.

since this is turning into a pearl jam thread, here's a track from one of their more recent (well, 04) unplugged shows.

Boston III acoustic pre-set set was the best acoustic set I've ever seen live.

I have that cd and I like it but I don't listen to it because it's about the time pearl jam really started to go downhill.
Wish I could come up with something better acoustic wise. Maybe some old bridge schools?

Even though Eddie is from Chicago - kind of (Evanston) - I did not see the mtv unplugged set until one month ago. After watching it I wondered how much else I missed :-)
