The muffins are for closers, Busto. Closers and people who've aced their GRE's already.

What about people that got in without taking the GRE?

Muffins, homemade blackberry jam, and a complementary New York Times.

09-17-2010 , 02:47 PM
Mmmm, muffins.
09-17-2010 , 02:52 PM
Nice! Do I have to read the New York Times or can I just leave it there for appearances?
09-17-2010 , 02:55 PM
Leave it for me. I do the crossword.

See, I have a Sudoku-a-day calender, so we won't step on each others toes. However, I need to put some work in, as it's still August 14th.

The first official snow in the forecast for tomorrow. Right now 38 degrees and raining out. I have a fire going in the wood/coal stove so it is a toasty 72 in the house.

The boy is up in Plentywood montana for a football game. A 6 hour drive and it is damn near the Canadian border.

The other highlight of the night is that the dog is sick. I think he ate a bunch of crap that is making him sick. He does this, is sick for a few days and then is fine. I am hoping for the same ting but we will have to keep an eye on him and hope for the best.

Now we are catching up no episode of Arrested Development. Great show!

Boom boom boom, Muffins.

My favorite moment from this season, except for maybe this which was awesome for its complete randomness.

I locked myself out of the house tonight after just arriving home. Came in through the breezeway and unlocked that door, then went out the back for jalapenos. My UPS delivery was hanging from the doorknob, which startled me, broke my usual rhythm, didn't check the knob.

Can't get to the breezeway door I came in through. It's behind another locked outside door.

Had a pizza in the oven at the time of course. I now know that I can break into our locked house in 10 minutes. The timer went off just as I got back inside.

I followed up this stellar performance by spewing melted cheese with tiny chopped jalapenos over half of the living room. Seriously, got at least 8 feet of carpet and a bunch of furniture.

I should probably head for bed before I burn the place down.

Hmmm, if I did just light a match, I wouldn't have to clean it........

oh entertainme, this made me laugh. I can't picture you doing such a thing, you always seem to have your act so together

How did you spew melted cheese and jalapenos over half of your living room? Did you trip?

Did anyone see this report on the stimulus funds received by LA? What do you make of it, do you think it could be accurate?

$70 million in stimulus funds to Public Works resulted in only 7.76 jobs created!

Apparently the LA Dept. of Public Works and Dept. of Transportation have received around $111 million in stimulus funds but so far have created only a handful of new jobs between the two dept's. If I read it correctly, DPW created 7.76 jobs, DOT created 9 jobs, and 37 jobs were retained (saved). Wow, how impressive.

Bad morning in the Fish house.

My wiener dog, Bernie, died last night. Not sure exactly what happened. He was pretty sick last night but he has done that countless times and pulled through and gotten better. It's usually him being a pig, getting into something and eating too much of something he is not supposed to have. He was pretty old and in rough shape wit arthritis to begin with and I knew he was going to go sometime soon but you still never expect it to actually be the time.

He was my friend and companion for a lot of years. He was supposed to be Fishettes dog originally but ended up being mine. He was the definition a of lap dog and sent almost every night in my lap. I will miss him terribly.

Sorry about your dog, Fish.
09-18-2010 , 12:05 PM
I'm sorry, Fishie.

All dogs go to heaven, ya know.
09-18-2010 , 12:08 PM
Sorry fish

On a happy note, Mrs. crash woke me up with sounds from the kitchen this morning. You guessed it, she is making muffins. Sweet, sweet fresh picked blueberries for muffins on a rainy morning. I think I'm in love.
09-18-2010 , 12:25 PM
Fish, so sorry to hear them. Losing a pet is awful. I am glad you said he was old. I feel better about losing animals or people when I know they've had a long and happy life.

One question though. What the hell is that thing hanging around his neck? Is that a miniature camera so when he's out hunting he can return with pics of magnificent moose?
09-18-2010 , 12:28 PM
crash, do you think I could smell them? Look but not touch?

Of course. I'm holding one up to my microphone now. You might also smell the light roast Oaxacan coffee I am drinking, which you would undoubtedly also enjoy.

Thanks Busto.. LOL, No, o camera. That is a collar for an electric fence. We do not have a fenced yard and so we got that when we moved to this house. It is actually pretty cool. It is wireless. There is a base unit you plug in and it sets up a range where the doggies can roam. When they get to the end of that range the collar will start beeping and if they continue to go farther it shocks them. They got used to it really quickly and rarely ever got to where they would actually get shocked.
09-18-2010 , 01:09 PM
Yikes. How bad is the shock? Like, if you put it on a person, how much would we say it hurt? Hypothetically. I am assuming you and Fishette have not tried them in the bedroom.
