I know otherwise-bright people who seem to think this is a magnificent thing.

All I see is crappy writing and a lot of bad acting, all forgiven in aid of facilitating one or two cool images per episode.

People were comparing this crap to TWIN PEAKS??!

I like it, but Im not sold on it yet. I think its something fresh and different. I havent heard it ever compared to Twin Peaks yet , but thats a travesty and that would enrage me too.

I think Dylan Mcdermont is great in the show

i enjoy it. i think it's because of the same reasons as the poster above. it's dark, its kinna gorey, and most importantly it's unique. which counts for alot in todays reality-****ing-real-housewives-of-my-anus type television programming going on today.

When the fall shows came out the first thing I said about this show was that I would avoid it. Then the preview commercials looked pretty interesting so I started watching. But it grabbed me in the least and after the first 3 I stopped with no interest in returning.

To those snarky, clever, and condescending "Oh, another opinion thread" dismissive people who inexplicably felt the need to open the thread, rather than just ignoring it, and do not have the status necessary to lock it, so ridicule it instead, I justify it by:

1. The exceptional critical acclaim,
2. The fact that it seems I could be wrong, given the fact that people whose opinions I trust seem to be on the bandwagon,
3. A recent heated debate between my wife and me on this topic, clouding my judgement, and

I think it's admirable for someone to make a horror TV Show that's weekly.

Haven't seen the show though. I suspect it would be overrated by those who don't watch much horror, and dismissed somewhat by horror afficienados.

Overrated? yes, at least by people that think it's really good (I thought the reviews were mostly bad). I'm not usually into guilty pleasure TV but this is perfect for it, kinda like Californication. Turn off your brain and bask in it's ridiculousness. I'll give them credit for trying something so weird, and If nothing else it crushes that piece of ****ing **** known as the walking dead.

okay started watching it. in the beginning its not that bad but it gets way to convoluted, ridiculous and boring after like 3 or 4 episodes.

I watched most of 1 episode by chance, and I fully agree with the thread's premise. It didn't scare me at all. It almost seemed like it was going for a camp thing, despite how the commercials seem to be trying to sell it.

To be fair to the show, the young version of the maid is an excellent, uh, "character."

Which reminds me of another issue with the show: so much of the sex stuff is just meh prurient, I can actually feel the writers writing it in. Too forced.

Except for those parts with that maid. Those are really excellent.
