This story of a boy and a scientist traveling across time became an instant classic for its courage to take on a gay love story without stepping onto a soap box. Revered for its subtlety, the film would go on to inspire Ang Lee’s classic of a similar name.

Spoiler:
Butnah. This is a great film. Since it's part of the whole story, I'm taking parts II and III. I'd like to say the story is fantastic, or the cinematography is without parallel, or that the special effects were groundbreaking. But really this came down to asking which of the films on my list I most look forward to watching again and again.

This round has been pretty kind to me so far. I've had quite a few of them on my list, but not as first or second round picks. I hope that continues.

You can't have the b2f trilogy

3 came out in 1990

You only get #1

Come on. We established that the rules will be bent if it is part of the same story. I require arbitration!

Not taking back to the future 2 and 3 helps your draft tho.

He gets 2 but not 3. In either case it's not really important at all.

Is Blade Runner: Director's Cut (or the Final Cut) an option? The movies came out after the 80s? The Final Cut came out a few years ago.

Ran is a fantastic movie.

BTTF 2+3 aren't nearly as good as the first. Not even close.

Basically, they aren't same story...there wasnt supposed to be a sequel until years later

It's not like colors trilogy (all planned together) or kill bill (2 parts of same movie)

The latter 2 were just cash ins from first one's success

I think that's right but not entirely sure. I believe 2+3 were shot continuously (like LOTR, Matrix 2+3) but not the first.

I once spent like 5 hours with a friend in a Chicago hotel room trying to figure out exactly how to make sense of Back to the Future time travel line and we couldn't do it. Don't really remember the discussion lol but it must have been epic.

Me too except I was 9. BTTF is a critical part of my childhood.

I wonder if THE critical movie of my childhood will be picked. Er, when. One specifically I watched countless times at the babysitter's house. I bet you can guess it if you're the same age. Maybe even with 1 try.
