Also how bad can it be for stealing 8k? Seems like people on the news do crazy stuff and somehow only do rehab and pay fines, etc. If it was jail time and ferrsure > 6 months I would seriously hideout or leave the country.

Roulette is a pretty awful way to try and win 4k in one shot when you have a game like baccarat that offers a significantly lower house edge and equal amount of braindead strategy.

By betting banker, there's only a little over 1% house edge. The 5% commission that you've lost, you can martingale that 5% till you hit.

After you make it, you better stop and pay off your debts.

Just plead gambling addiction - you will just have to do some rehab... and pay the employer back over time when you can.

Haha wow...umm...several observations...

1) I don't believe it took 73 posts for someone to suggest that ZOMG this might not be true.

2) Martingale? Is this a joke? & you seriously spent 7 posts trying to give that horribly poor explanation of the math implications of it? A serious math person like Mayo should deal with this, but the idea is you can make a little bit of money most of the time, or lose all your money rarely. Doubling your money is NOT winning a little money. In fact it's basically the opposite.

If roulette was a zero sum game, which it's not, as you have -EV, then your odds of doubling up with Martingale would be the exact same as your odds of doubling up by betting it all on one spin if your bankroll was a certain large number of Martingale bets.

However, in real life where roulette is a -EV game, and you only have 4k to make 4k (I'm not going to run the math, but you would probably need at least 20k to make Martindale the optimal play here). Again, I'm not going to run the math, but I would put the odds of doubling up with Martindale at no more than 15%. Reverse Martingale would be a MUCH better solution here, as the idea of that is to lose a little or win a lot. I still don't believe it would be optimal here, however, because he is trying to double his money, not build it up 4 or 5 times. It would be kinda interesting if someone actually ran the #s on these thangs.

I feel like I've put too much strat in BBV4L...but I have made up all my #s & math so I feel a bit better bout that imo.

3) The best bet is to put it all on red or black...period...the more iterations of -EV events you do, the more likely you are to lose (blackjack is a poorer option too cuz ya aren't maximizing EV playing for all your $$$ at once). There is no good way around this here, as you apparently suck at sports betting & poker so don't have any +EV options.

4) From a legal stand point, gambling addiction is NOT an excuse for stealing stuff. Just like stealing money for crack isn't a legal justification, or stealing money to feed your family, or any other thang. Your plea options are: guilty, not guilty, no contest, or not guilty by reason of insanity...not "gambling addiction."

B) It hits red and you have $7600 and can martingale up to $8000
C) It hits green and you have $5400 and you can do the bet again

4) Bet the last $100 on Big red by yelling it and throwing it in the middle while the thrower is in motion to roll.

Trip Report for those interested...I was able to pawn some **** and ended up getting up to 5400 bucks before walking into the casino...I went to craps and bet 2,000 no ten 2000 no four with 25 on the dont pass line...first roll I rolled a 7 which paid me 2000 bucks less the vig and 25 for dont pass...next roll was an 11 cost me 25 bucks...I then bet 300 on hopping the reds while keeping up the 2k lay on 10 and 4 each...I threw a seven and brought it all down...I donked around some more betting 600 no 5 a few times and losing 1 of 3...I went to restroom to calm down and count and I had 11400 at that point...I basically had my boss paid back and around 3gs in my pocket...the safe play would be to leave but I didnt...I went to roulette...

I put 1400 on red and hit it...and opted to press all 2800 on red once more and lost....fricken double 00...I still had boss paid and 2 grand to put on tarheels saturday night which I did now I have the 8k to give boss in am tomorrow and no money left to live on while I find another job...may take the 8k to casino and try to grind out a few grand for myself tonight not really sure...Martingale sucks btw.
