In elementary school if I would get my recess taken away I would secretly hope that everyone lost it. Sadly enough I was like 95% on this as my recess teacher was a bitch. I also remember her forgetting that she took my recess away alot too. She was the first one to teach me adults were fallible.
I think about this pretty much daily, and tbh you posting this is quite creepy because idk if it's supposed to trick me or wat

I believed that people with tatoo's were the strongest. Like some kind of superior race who were cooler and stronger than anyone else and was kind of disapointed that my dad didnt have one.

Same. And I found out other people (or robots, as I assumed) had the same thoughts. And I thought that the admittance of having the same thought by you "robots" was a very sneaky way of trying to hide yourselves. Well done, I haven't worried about this in years. Thanks for bringing back childhood fears.

I thought that each Nina Turtle and Splinter had a house in my babysitters neighborhood thanks to her ****er son who lied to me

Funny, for me it's the exact opposite.

When I was 6 years old, I thought every house got assigned a phone number and that these numbers were sequential like house numbers. So once, having dialled the wrong number when I called my friend to ask if he could come out and play, I asked the woman on the phone if she could go over to Tony's place and ask him for me (I couldn't have gotten more than one digit wrong, could I)?.

She was like, wtf.

Hahah whoa, this reminds me. I remember arguing with my mom that I was older than my brother (who is 23 months older than me) becuase I was born in June and he was born in July

Tons of weird stuff. I used to believe that if you had one of your eyes poked out you could just go get one fried up at a diner to replace it.

Having kids is really trippy because you get to see a lot of this stuff all the time. The digging to China one earlier cracked me up because just today my daughter(6) came home from school and and told me that you couldn't really dig to China--in fact you couldn't dig thru the Earth to any countries. She bought a small radio at a yard sale because when she picked it up and turned it on a song she liked was playing, so she bought it because it was one that "had all good songs in it."

I kid around with them a lot and the younger(4) one is still convinced I'm a wizard--because I went to wizard school. The 6yr old has figured that one out(as for me), but the other day she asked me why the President couldn't get a really powerful wizard to make all the bad people turn back into children and teach them to be good. About a month ago she made me help her use google to ask if fairies "really existed" and where we could find some. LOL.

I also had this really warped view of the economy where I believed if you bought something, whoever the cashier was got to keep the money. In my world view, librarians only could pay for food and stuff if someone's books were overdue and car salesman was the coolest job ever.

Late addition:

This is kind of more of someone being a dumbass, but it's funny enough to mention. I have a good friend who is a college football player. Full scholarship. Nice guy, but he couldn't understand how time zones worked. He was told that the concord is so fast that if you fly on it across the atlantic ocean, when you arrive, the time wil be eariler than when you left. He then concocted a brilliant plane about how he was going to watch sporting events in England and when they were over, he would fly across the ocean and place large bets on the games (because in America, those games hadn't happened yet.)

He was 19 at the time.
This reminds me of an anecdote about a college basketball player that pointedly refused to get on an airplane that was going to cross time zones because he "didn't want to get on no time machine." I don't remember who the player was though.

It wasn't a belief for very long, but I remember thinking I could look up the skirt of a woman on TV by getting real close to the bottom of the tv set and lookup up at the screen.

my cousin told me sex was when you kissed a girl for more than 10 seconds, so i was proud to have the sexytime summer after 5th grade, way before i heard most people do it

i used to think if i was on a plane and it was crashing, i'd walk out to the end of the wing and jump off right before it hit the ground, so i wouldnt get hurt.

I always used to think that when I would slot in a VHS to watch a film, that the actors would be given a message to start acting for me...real time!

Heres a few off the top of my head (all probably 11yo years and younger)

Doctor: "take some nice nice deep breaths"
Thought she said "ooh wow nice breasts" for about a week; was very confused and scared

Talked to God regularly

Was convinced I was part of a TV Show and or being watched

High fever; convinced myself for about an hour I was controlling the universe with my fingers, literally (kinda like the twilight zone episode with that guy that controlled events in the world through his OCD)

Gullible is written in the ____. (fell for that one a lot)

"Used to think all the money on deposit in a bank was kept on hand in the vault, and each customer had their own pile." -dustybottoms

I confirmed this theory also after I read it in a book. Might have been Phantom Toll Booth

Digging to china in a sandbox was possible

Didn't understand how it was physically possible for fat people to have sex (with their stomachs so big and all)

Will think of more later

lol yeah I used to think this too.
like "if a plane crashes and I just jump with everything I have straight up just when the plain is about to crash it would be just like jumping off a tree or something.

For some reason I thought cars were conscious beings with souls and personalities. I would literally cry when I saw a car getting crushed on TV.
