Well its 6am here and he just spent the last 6 hours under my arm sleeping next to me as I did.

Wasnt going to deny him breakfast at his time of choice so I guess im awake thinking of what's to come.

I hope he enjoys his tuna and shredded crab

the cat that i grew up with died a few years ago. i still hurt

Probably the worst hour of my life. Was so slow to be sedated even after a double dose because of his poor circulation.

Even after 40 mins he was trying to stand but was too groggy to get up. He just didnt want to go.

Finally went go and his head went limp on my arm and it was incredibly difficult placing his limp body in the grave we dug him. At least he went in curled up like he would when asleep with his paw covering his eyes from the sun.

he was part of the family and I know he had a good 17 year life but it hurts :'( RIP

That's heartbreaking man. Feel better.

My dog died a little over a year ago and it still hurts every time I think about the night he passed.. Just remember the good times

Sorry to hear... I've had to put down two dogs myself. It'll get better(obv). While it sucked balls I always found a little light knowing I didn't let my dogs suffer anymore than they had to. I owed them that much. Sounds like you did the same in this instance. Also keep in mind that while you thought he was the nutz, he was prob thinking the same about you. Keep your head up bro

This is a silly post. How are you comparing a child to a cat? Its just an animal get over it. Just buy another cat or whatever and Simba will quickly be forgotten.

that is not true and you are insensitive for even suggesting it. a cat or any other animal can come to mean as much if not more than some children to some people. please don't tell how someone else to feel about losing a loved one. and yes, that cat was a loved one and family member to him i believe. don't be a jackass mang.

This is godawful. I hope you feel better soon, but the first few weeks or so really are bad.

We had to do the same to our cat who was 16 a few months ago. It was so crappy. I had her since i was in 5th grade. For the first few weeks after, I kept subconsciously looking for her favorite sitting places, but then I would remember, "oh, yeah"

I practically grew up with him by my side for 17 years since i was 4 years old until today. He was a family member and i'm obviously grieving for him as such. getting another cat will not just solve the problem.

I modeled him into the cat he was with his own unique personality, one that was always game for anything. The things he would put up with from being covered in diamontes to colouring him with fluro highlighters because he had white hair to flipping him around and just knowing when i wanted him to be around, which was always the easiest thing because he often wanted to be around. Particularly with me. If my mother father sister and i took 4 corners to a room and beckoned him he would choose me. thats the kind of close relationship we had.
