Anyone been? Headed down there for World Cup next summer. Any tips? Advice? Must-see places? How bad is Joburg really?

I live there. Stay out of township areas imo, not always the safest. Don't know much about joburg, but apart from the soccer you'll def wanna visit the kruger national park, its awesome. Cape town is a great place too, nice people, table mountain, beachs. Also has one of the highest population of gays in the world apparently lol. But our chicks are super hawt for the most part. Ask other question and i'll try answer

What districts in Joburg would you consider to be safe/undsafe. I have to spend at least the first 4 days of our trip there are we have tickets for some of the matches. What about going out at night, for drinks or whatnot? Are there certain areas where one can go have and few pints and meet some locals? More on the ladies.

like i said, i know nothing of joburg and the surrounding areas. But the city itself is fine for the most part, and there will be plenty clubs there. We know how to party, that i can promise you. Just stay away from the rural areas/townships, which won't be hard to do. And for more info on our wimmins, google minki van der westhuizen, megan mckenzie and kerri macgregor. Just a couple hotties off the top of my head

They use a special plug in South Africa that no one else really uses it's called the WA-10 or the WA-10L (the elephant's foot). This I just found out today.

I live in Johannesburg and have never been mugged, hijacked, robbed etc...If you staying in JHB for the World Cup, then I'd say stay in the northern suburbs (Sandton area has nice hotels). Do not go anywhere near the inner city. Also don't go near a prostitute unless you're paying her a large amount of money, cos all the street hookers have aids. If you wanna visit Soweto then go on an organised tour of it, don't just go on your own. PM me if you wanna know any other stuff. sweet

Who would pay less for a hooker without aids?

Remember that in some areas 1 in 9 people have AIDS so don't do anything stupid. Also don't be a hero when you're getting robbed, raped or hijacked cause you'll get shot. Coke and pot is very cheap and easy to get and if you get busted by the cops with a small amount you'll probably only get a fine. But leave the hookers and blackjack alone. Stay out of prawn areas.
