My avatar: Vampire Weekend

Although lately they have been getting a lot more popular, but many people haven't even heard of them yet.

They're a great band.

Dosh -- The Lost Take
The Album Leaf
Film School -- Hideout

I don't know if Band of Horses is really considered hipster but they're one of my favs right now.

minus the bear - all of it is good....any cd.
appleseed cast - low level owl is good as well as peregrine, and mare vitalis
explosions in the sky - they dont really sing much but the music is pretty awesome
circa survive - im sure most of you have probably heard of them.
cursive - kinda garage'y but pretty good. Bad sects is a pretty good song. Entire ugly organ cd is good.
ghostland observatory - best band around imo..... definately unique. Prob heard of them
the national - secret meeting, about today, fake empire ...someone mentioned earlier....badass
passion pit- manners....probably heard of it by now but if not, check em out.
rogue wave - descended like vultures and asleep at heavens gate. also the song eyes.
temper trap - more than likely heard of them

btw whoever said holy f**k, dling them now thx.

Does Belle and Sebastian constitute hipster music?

I listen to them but I shave too frequently to be considered hipster.

TV On The Radio-Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes
The National-Alligator/Boxer (already been mentioned, phenomenal stuff)
Sigur Ros-(), Takk (gorgeous, dreamy Icelandic post-rock)
Mew-And The Glass Handed Kites, No More Stories...

Surprised a thread on hipster music could go 3.5 pages without someone mentioning Radiohead.

Individual tracks I've been binging on lately:
Ride-Vapour Trail
School of Seven Bells-Half Asleep
Polvo-Beggar's Bowl

Comets on Fire, you win thread so far. If you didn't know, Ethan Miller keeps an awesome blog where he post all sorts of live/rare **** by Comets, Howlin Rain, Six Organs of Admittance and a bunch of random psych stuff.

lol. A self-respecting hipster would be about as likely to bring up Radiohead in a thread like this as they would Nickelback.

Flutebox.
Burning tight rope.
Pop the Glock.

All hail the mindless minions who are so busy being unique and special that they all drift into their own shared mediocrity while sitting about moaning about how hard life is because their dad only gives them £500 a month while living rent free in art squats and warehouses smoking drum light and discussing their own pseudo Bohemia in between cans of tramp beer and gut rot wine as if their lives have some kind of higher meaning because they live like subsidised bums.
