My grandparrents died a few years ago, and they owned a big forest in Norway (about 100 ackers).

This was then passed on to my father, but since he has moved to Thailand, never to return, he has given the forest to me ???

I now own a huge forest, but wtf am I to do with it? I am not 100% sure, but I believe there are rules to how much i can cut down and im not allowed to build on the property.

Win or Fail?

Also, suggestions on what I can use it for is very welcome.

I mean... ???

You mentioned you can't build on it, okay. Are there taxes to be paid? Do you need to maintain it in some way? Does it have some kind of sale value? You left out just about every detail needed to give you any kind of rational answer. For the moment it sounds like your old man dumped a 100 acre burden on you and ran away, which I'd put squarely into the FAIL/BEAT category.

This is what I suspect he has done. Yes, I have to pay taxes, but they are small. Yes, it needs to be maintained, but I have experience with that, and its really no issue. Im not sure what the price is, but I expect its not alot.

I guess I would make more selling christmas trees and fire-wood. My father estimated the total value to be about 500.000 NOK, about 100.000 USD.

Don't just cut it all down, IMO. Seems a shame. There must be something cool you can do with an entire forest to yourself.

Are you sure you can't build anything on it? Maybe you can build some small stuff like, I dunno, some cool treehouses or something, hahaha.
