Imagine how it feels from our perspective when a country like France is bordered by countries that all speak a different language (excuse my American ignorance if "all" is wrong). The fact that all 50 states share a common language effectively shortens the distance.

Just drive. No passport required. Some roads are toll roads, but even if a road has a toll as you drive from one state to another there are plenty of other roads to choose from that don't have a toll. Interstate roads are probably the major conduits for interstate travel, but there are plenty of secondary roads that cross state lines as well.

Own a 9mm pistol for home defense. My neighbor owns several rifles. Another owns several as well. Legal guns are reasonably priced and quite easy to buy.

A suprising number of "city folk" come from rural areas and enjoy hunting. I don't hunt, but those that do generally consume the meat from their kills. A very few number of hunters kill enough to subsist from thier kills, but most do not.

I generally carry $20-40. Hundo's are balla and rarely seen. $20's are the usual "bigger" bill. Interestingly, $50's are more rare than $100's.

Ben Franklin was not a President and he's on the $100. Alexander Hamilton was our first Secretary of the Treasury and appears on the $10 bill. The portraits on our bills change very rarely.

My guess is that the population as a whole is slightly in favor of the death penalty. Obama can't ban it. He could sign an executive order putting a moratorium on federal death sentences, but he could do little (if anything) to affect sentencing laws at the state level. Personally, I feel the death penalty does little to deter crime.

My guess is that rodeos are on the decline. They showcase skills that are far less a part of ordinary life than they used to be (for rural settlers).

Poker in the US is probably more popular today than it has ever been. And yes, there are juicy home games in nearly every town. They just might not be all that easy to find. The seemingly ridiculous restrictions on games spread in some casinos are almost always due to limitations imposed by state laws. So the real answer to your questions is because some law makers are ignorant on the topic of poker.

$ - don't know, don't smoke. Warnings are on every pack. Smoking in public places is permitted/restricted in accordance with local laws. Smoking in public places is more restricted today than it ever has been before, and it's not over.

Most trailer park residents are semi-permanent. I went to a home game a few weeks ago that was held in a trailer home that had a beautiful wood deck. Trailers are generally not chosen because they allow mobility but because they are cheaper than a non-trailer home.

That wasn't a holidy, it was a vacation. Pancakes and waffles are generally a weekend luxury. Many Americans don't eat breakfast. Some eat something healthy like yogurt. Some (especially younger adults) eat breakfast cereal. Based on how fat we are though, I'd say that most eat Egg McMuffins.
