There are only 2 scientifically proven treatments. Finasteride (brand name Propecia) and minoxidil (brand name Rogaine in US, Regaine in EU). Propecia is a pill you take once a day, your best option btw. Regaine is a liquid you have to put on your head twice a day.

Legit Propecia is pretty expensive, you can get hair transplant surgery for the same price as a year-s worth of Propecia.

You cannot stop it. It's geneticly determined that you will lose your hair.
why? Because the hair folicels in your scalp are responsive to DHT, which makes them die.

Testosterone, produced by your nutsack, will transform into DHT. This transformation is caused by an enzyme.

Propecia,Finasteride or w/e pill every1's suggestion is blocking this enzyme. Which reduces the DHT.

Minoxidil (rogaine like products) will stimulate bloodflow in your scalp, which stimulates hairgrowth.

The use of these 2 products combined is your best shot.

But both have it's side effects, and they both might not work with you(very person depending). Also you've gotta use them the rest of your live, because if u stop, u'll lose it again and even faster.

Also you might want to think of the fact ur popping pills that are designed for prostate size reduction, you dont know what they will do to the rest of your body.

You could buy a hair transplant, but the transplanted hairs will be facing the DHT, and will die too. And then eventually you will end up bald with scartissue on your head, which is even more uglier.

You're best off accepting and try looking as much like Patrik Antonius... buy an expensive watch, buy a black slim fitted shirt and hope for pussy.

I'm the same OP (receding) and i'm only 23 and single. (FML)

I used to get pretty down about it but as many others have said ITT there is nothing you can do. Just try and find some things that can replace the missing confidence (Get fit, work out, get alot of sun (nice tan), communicate with people daily).

Keep grinding the pokers and once you become balla you can just get a transplant, that's what i'm hoping for.

It takes a while to get used to the fact (took me around 3 years, yes i started balding at 20). I went through phases of shaving my head also. Once you do get used to it you will look back and be ashamed of how seriously you were taking it. 90% (completely made up figure) of people go bald at some point in their lifes.

OP, do you play with your hair alot? You maybe damaging your hair and scalp. What shampoo/conditioner do you use? A barber suggested that I use baby shampoo instead of regular shampoo such as head and showers. Since I started using baby shampoo, I have notice my scalp and hair aren't as dry and damaged. There are other shampoo/conditioner such as Nioxin that is suppose to remove the DHT from your scalp but it didn't help me. Try propecia and rogaine if you aren't worried about side effects. Hair restoration is another option to try.
Don't shave your head. That should be your last option.

Downside of propecia is it is expensive.

So I propose the alternative.
Try Proscar.
Go to a doctor and have him prescribe it. If I'm right, it is only 1/4 of Propecia price. You cut a pill in 4 pieces and take 1 piece a day.

Both Propecia and Proscar are known to stop hair loss but in most cases, it restores hair to good degree especially for those whose hair loss have begun recently.

Lastly, Propecia is FDA approved and Proscar is a pill for prostate cancer but both have essentially the same effect.
Take Proscar, it is a lot cheaper and works just as well.

I've been losing my hair since I was about 18 (23 now), haven't had much trouble hooking up with girls though. I shave my head down to a 1 and wear a hat most of the time, if you are charming and get a girl to like you before she sees your hair then it won't matter most of the time once she does. If she cares then forget her, girls like that aren't worth the time anyways.
