I'm on the side of the scale where I can eat 2k calories and lose weight, but that's not typical for women in their mid 30s.
I think this is problably the most important fact when on a diet (regardles of loosing or gaining mass). the other problem here is that tuma is clueless about what is a healthy diet (both in terms of macros and sources) and has a FOOT complex about any advice ITT. Your advice to mlylt is spot on, I would only comply about that much coffe and the diet sodas, home made fruit (melon, pineaple for fiber, etc) water or mineral work better for me (but I am not a woman), obviously the best is just simple water, but is not for everyone.

Odds that tuma is the first to bail out?

Metabolic rate is 2530cal/day now. I need to eat between 1200-1500 a day to loose 50lbs by Mar 1.

I'm not sure, but 50 lbs in 6 months with diet and exercise seems fairly aggressive.

Do you think you might achieve a better long term result if you looked at a year time frame and somewhere in the 15-1800 calorie range? Then you aren't strictly dieting, you are building a long term, maintainable, wellness plan.

I need to lose 15 for sure, I'd like to do 20...but my real goal is to improve my cardiovascular stamina. I took the kids out to the bush two weekends ago and I was flat-out winded walking quickly through rough brush. My in laws have 340 acres of bush and 4 wheeler trails. I want to be able to play all day on my kids level there without stopping.

My youngest daughter is in physical therapy and is supposed to jump as often as possible. I've started doing it with her in addition to my other exercise. This is shockingly hard to sustain for long periods.

Diet soda isn't any better for you than normal soda, it just ****s with your brain instead of your hips.

Are you trolling your own thread?

This is a recipe for failure, specially for someone who just started a new job. Do you have a special reason to lose wheigth before march? If so you need to go with a nutritionist ASAP

As i see it, you already have your problem solved. Just stop those snacks in between meals

Actually, it's booze, not snacks that has me up, but I'm not even dramatically changing that.

I lose weight easily, just upping my activity with my kids has me down 5lbs since this thread started. I bet I've lost the last 10-15 by the end of next month. Though that is not my goal-- I'll be happy if it is gone by next spring.

Improving my endurance is a bigger challenge. I'd like to set the goal of keeping up with my husband through the woods during deer season in November, but that's a high-side.
On the low-side I'd like an hour of light-moderate jogging by next spring without feeling totally exhausted at the end, by next spring. Right now it is worth at least 20 mins of hating my life after.

This thread is actually helping.

Also, ScreaminAsian, since you died in your other thread and it is now October, I will now be referring to your work in this thread as haunting instead of trolling.

Would you consider switching to vodka and soda with a lemon twist instead of beer.

I think soda here is what I call mineral water.

I trained basketball in high school, and by my experirence (lol sample size) jumping arround on a daily basis is a good excercise for endurance. Try 3 sets of 15 minutes with rest periods of 2 minutes (don't cheat on this) and see how you feel.

Can you elaborate on how to eat that on a $0 budget?

TS?
Spoiler:

Dinner, pasta and tuna with lemmon water

Pre workout shake (only drink half) with measure glass for scale

Breakfast part 1

Breackfast part 2

Actually, I drink gin with 0 cal tonic and lemon, for a 115 cal total. Beer is a meal specific treat for food like pizza or chilli.

What exactly is the shake you drink? Also, I'm not sure if I read what your specific goals are?

Lastly, were you suggesting 45 mins total of just jumping with only two min rests every 15 mins?

I'm definitely not there yet.

That food looks miserable, but I think that it's more because it's poorly lit than miserable tasting.

Also that BMI chart says I'm underweight but that's not true at all. I'm 6ft 3 and 195lbs but all the weight is on my stomach. I look like one of those african children with the bloated stomach (except I'm white).

I generally eat good food but a lot of it. I had a whole mixing bowl of salad with cous cous and chicken for dinner tonight.

My fluid intake is awful however. There have been more days that I'd like to count in which I have only drank beer and red bull.

If people start posting what they eat daily I might do the same as a control subject.

I'm the same re: fluid intake. My only possible saving grace is that I drink so much water that I regularly worry if too much water can be bad for you.

Average fluid consumption on a drinking day.
Morning: three cups of coffee
Afternoon: 32-64 oz of water
Evening: G&T until bed. As many as it takes.
Bed/sleep: 16-32 oz of water

I'm in for posting daily intake. It'll be motivating.
