That's at MEPS, so I haven't taken it yet. Took a practice one while watching TV and not paying a ton of attention:

Air Force doesn't have MOSs. We have AFSCs. IDK why. But I'm gonna do some sort of engineering, though the specific type is still up in the air.

I'll def hit you up on AIM sometime, thanks.

Pilot's an officer's job anyway fml.

Does this mean you will not work in the Airforce Motor Pool?

lol did not even realise that sorry mayo. Why are you joining the air force, are you the next top gun
12-22-2009 , 11:42 PM
Perhaps we should offer suggestions for Mayo's Call Sign.

Goose?
12-22-2009 , 11:46 PM
Top Gun is the Navy. I am joining the Air Force. The Air Force is not the Navy.
12-22-2009 , 11:48 PM
Not the Goose?
12-22-2009 , 11:56 PM

That looks pretty good but the asvab practice tests are designed to be easier than the actual thing. Mechanical comprehension is your weakest area but as I remember that was the one that was shapes being put into all sorts of **** and then then having to find the odd one out. Its mostly about trying to notice the pattern and then eliminating it as quickly as possible. Most people who took that area are stupid as **** and wouldnt even know what to look for if there was a big red arrow pointed at it. What I'm trying to say is if that is the case then just dont sweat the score you got there.

As far as MEPS goes I believe this is standard for all branches but you go for an initial screen where they give you the duck walk, a vision and audio test, a blood work, and a bonus of an old man telling you to turn around and bend over after he caresses both of your nuts with his hand. Afterwards you get the contract, they staff have you look over it, then you sign and get sworn in. Depending on your ship date you may only have to do this once. If you get DEP'd in you will be doing it twice (going to MEPS.)

Listen to everything they tell you to do carefully. The biggest dumbasses for some reason flocked to the Air Force and couldnt follow simple directions and had to get waivers to do a friggen duck walk. They had a recruit who after being told three times to knock only once on the staffs door and enter immediately proceed to knock on the door and peer through the window at the staff only to knock again. He got his ass chewed out pretty goddamn quick in front of the entire waiting room full of recruits from every branch.

Theres probably more I can write but most people wouldnt care to focus their attention long enough to read it.

Oh and the biggest most important thing is get every guarantee your recruiter promises to you in writing. If he/she says we can make you get a bonus for signing as an engineer and even promises this to you it still wont mean diddly dick to the next guy down the line who gets to put you into a job field.

I am not knocking you or your expertise in this matter. I am just curious if Mayo is taking it seriously.

Like he should, obviously.

Sometimes Mayo is a jokster and a slacker and does not take things as seriously as he should.
12-23-2009 , 12:10 AM
oh okay then we are cool once again

Thanks.

This all matches up with everything I've heard about MEPS. I'm not at all worried about any of my ASVAB scores. I kick ass at taking tests.

Physical shouldn't be any problem. I'll be in DEP for a while, so I know I'm doing it twice. And I'll be going over the contract with a fine-toothed comb. When working on my casefile I pissed my recruiter off because I wouldn't sign any of the forms without reading them completely, which came to like 60 pages.

I'm good at following directions. I'm annoyingly precise about **** like that, and I'm about ready for that to start paying off for me.

Yeah everybody's told me this. If the contract doesn't say I'm going in as an E-3 and getting out in four years, I ain't signing it.

What about you? When do you ship out? And are you going to Parris Island or whatever that other place is?

I have another question

In the movie "snakes on a plane", a scene near the ending takes place where this fat black guy (Kenan Thompson) lands the plane with SLJ, and he saves everyone, do you think you could do that.
