Explanation of how I came to chose QUORK and be the only 5 so far. It's a misspelling of QUARK. Years ago I read The Quark and the Jaguar by Murray Gell-Man about his discovery of the quark. Years later I found myself at the airport in Puebla MX for a conference I needed to attend. In line for customs the guy in front of me turns around and introduces himself as Amir Aczel and asks if I am there for the conference. He then introduces me to the guy with him as Jerome Friedman who won a Nobel in physics for discovering the quark. First words out of my mouth to a Nobel prize winning physicist were "Didn't Murray Gell-Man discover the quark?" Oops. Turns out although Gell-Man did in fact hypothesize it's existence, Friedman used the largest particle accelerator in the world to observe it. I would give myself half credit but it turns out I still can't spell it.

Though nothing to do with "quarks" specifically, I have always enjoyed CBC's Quirks and Quarks.

I just looked up quork and it is the sound a raven makes. Surprised I did not know that, as I lived in the NWT for 30 years, where the raven is both revered and despised..lol
