POG as a community shouldn't an opinion on MU separate from the collective opinions of the people who make it up, and it looks like a critical mass of players voted with their feet and now prefer to play on MU (it's a damn good product!). Of course, there is a subset of poggers (including myself) who, for whatever reasons, would prefer more werewolf being played on POG specifically who lose out, but it's not as if they have any right to make demands on Thingy or the players who left.

Having said that, I think it's a little disingenuous for Thingy to pretend that he's not mostly interested in using POG as a farm system to funnel players to his site (although I can't actually read his mind!). It takes a lot of chutzpah to do it as brazenly as he did, and I almost have to admire the man for his dedication. But like i said earlier, I might care a lot more if I didn't think that POG WW was dead with or without MU. It certainly would have been deader earlier if not for his earlier recruiting efforts on POG. Good for him; he struck while the iron was hot. I hope MU becomes a huge success and carries the werewolf beacon long after we're gone.

Also, wrt the database, the actual game/player data, which the community compiled, wouldn't be of any use to him on MU. The coding for the site was done my me, Krayz and Chips, and I was happy to ship the source code to him as he was, after all, the originator of the project, and code sharing should be default anyway.

I've spent a lot of time talking with thingy over the past year since MU started and I strongly disagree that he had malicious or "funnel" intent in mind, consciously or subconsciously

You could perhaps argue obliviousness, or idealism, but not opportunism

the question wrt mu is:

who left?

which players who played on pog (with any regularity) now specifically play on mu and not pog

name names

Let's see, in the only game I played there, which just concluded, the players I can identify as poggers who Thingy didn't recruit himself originally (afaik)...

Ace of Spaids
batm
chrja
CrimsonFox
Gad
ianaww
Montecore
mor_tilt
Jim
telcontar
Weatherguy

and off the top of my head, guys like mets and soah I believe are also regs there and don't play here anymore.

I don't know. I was just listing players from the last game. Thought actual data might be helpful to the discussion.

most of those players have played on pog in recent times

i just want you to name the specific players who used to play here in recent times who ditched pog for mu completely

wrt turbos

i agree with what has been said before

pog more skill
MU better software stuff

the playerbases for the turbos are completely different too

at least 7/9 players for most turbos tend to be people who haven't played on pog

occasionally you'll have your lissa, or your stork or whatever play

To me personally, it feels a bit -- and I'm aware this is a somewhat crass comparison -- like asking Ray Rice's girlfriend to apologize for her role in the incident.

As someone who hardly ever talks to Thingy and prefers to play on POG rather than MU, you're wrong.

Fair enough; it seemed clear enough to me who was Ray Rice in your analogy, but let's just move on.
