Are you religious?
Tough question for me. I believe in God ... I've experienced moments that are so breathtaking that I can't help but believe. After that, it gets fuzzy for me. I grew up a Christian, and the basic fundamentals of it (The Ten Commandments, The Golden Rule etc.) are really good IMO. But every church experience I've ever had has had negatives. A lot of it comes back to the Bible verse about "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" and the one about not judging others. So many people fail to get this: They criticize the clothing other churchgoers wear, the jobs they have, the way their kids look and behave, I mean, people just can't help themselves but to run their mouths and belittle everyone. So I avoid churches these days. But then I don't read the Bible or pray regularly, either. It's kind of a tussle with myself. Maybe it comes down to, a lot of the values behind true Christianity I believe in wholeheartedly, and I just don't have a lot of faith in people.

My father and I did a cross-country driving trip to visit my brother in Livingston, Montana a few years ago, and in doing so we drove throw Yellowstone and down to jackson Hole, Wyoming. The views are stunning, and spending two weeks with my father driving around was, now that I think about it, a real turning point in our relationship. (He had ditched the woman he had an affair with by then.) Things between him and I have been really good ever since, and they were not always that way. As far as vacations I'd really like to take, I've love to drive the Pacific Coast Highway for a week and just make random stops where my heart wants.

The World Cup final, easily. The atmosphere for those games (and these Euro games) is beyond anything I'd find in the states, I think.

I'm about to head to work, I will keep answering questions as time allows so please be patient. I'm glad this thing took off.

$17 in a freeroll years ago that actually started my online cash career. I never put a dime of my own on a poker site (until six months ago when I sent FCBL $20 and he hooked me up on Stars).

Congratulate your brother on his good taste in places to live. (I grew up in eastern Idaho and used to work summers in Yellowstone. It's really the only thing I miss, living in Alaska now...)

Has splitting up soured you on ever marrying again? Why or why not?

how come you're a sports journalist, yet you like wrestling?

Whats your biggest regret in your pog life?

some of your favourite sporting moments/sportsmen/women.

if you were a character from the simpsons, who would you be and why?

pro sports is over hyped and glamorised, college (or even high school?) sports is vastly superior. Discuss

I'm swamped at work and it may be until late tonight that I get to answer more questions. There's a handful I see out there that I can't wait to answer, so keep up the good journalism, everyone!

Hell, let's at least get to one or two before I dig in here at work:

That first question, truthfully, I don't know. I don't self-motivate well at all, I have to be really interested in whatever it is I'm doing, or I just don't do anything. That's probably why I'm good at my job, is I love sports and love covering the athletes and teams and telling their stories. It interests me. Poker was about the money and about a competitive streak in me: If I do something I want to be the best at it. On the other hand, I find it hard to motivate myself to do other things, such as finishing college or things around the house, because I just don't care if that stuff gets finished or not. So I don't think I'm the best guy to talk about motivation.

My biggest source of strength? Wow, I don't know. Both my parents have left huge scars on me ... my father is cool now, but growing up he was nothing but a disciplinary figure and a source of fear for me. I didn't like him at all until I was already grown up. In a lot of ways, I don't know if I have a huge source of strength. I'm lucky to have a lot of co-workers who really care about me, and a couple real close friends. And to be honest, the people of POG have been a big help, too. And I do feel I have an inner faith and a belief that things will turn out OK in the long run.

If you had asked me this six months ago, I'd have said the biggest changes would be that I'd be living in a slightly bigger, better house and maybe with a kid or two. Now? Oh my God.

Once the house situation sorts itself out and I'm living on my own, it's a whole new world for me and there's going to be opportunities for me to change my life completely. I have a good enough resumé now that I could probably get a job at most newspapers (finishing at least my AA degree would help), so I've given some thought to moving to a new place and kind of starting over. On the other hand, I like where I'm at right now in terms of my career, I'm well-respected in the office and the community and I've earned a reputation here. Part of me would like to try to get a job where I can cover something bigger, like a pro or major college team. The again, part of me really likes covering high school sports, mainly because of the relative lack of egos involved.

As far as relationships go, I'm not in the right place mentally right now to worry about it.

So, basically, I've got about 100 different paths I can take, and I'm not sure which one I'll go down, but it's kind of exciting.

i think i'm gonna do a well after shorty if that's ok with everybody

I know I'm jumping out of order here but I can answer this quick with this link to my blog tribute, which pretty much states why I was a fan.

Humanity will end in nuclear war, I feel pretty confident about that.
