In 4th place - scoring 10 points:

Early 2000s modern rock from Estonia. Liked the beat a lot. I like it, but I bet another song by these guys could have won this thing.

Podium time!

We have choir music, indie rock and folk metal. Pretty awesome.

Going outside of my normal genre zone and it works well. I'm sure tchaz will find a way to disqualify this.

Starts with about 2 minutes of traditional music. Just when I was hoping for some guitars, I got them. Big time. Loved it.

Fun indie rock you can sing along to. This is pretty much perfect for me. Maybe we should break up the supergroup.

Should be able to bang the last one out later this weekend.

I only have 1 submission for the 2nd batch. I'd really like 10 for this, but I'd go with 8. Any fewer and I might have to reevaluate.

I can submit an entry at a moment's notice. I'm just waiting to see if there's something to be learned from the first round reveal.

I'm a big proponent for everything sounding minimalistic but yeah this is not good at all. Goes to show that there are tons more people who are good at singing than people who can put together a decent song. As a local I had never heard this before.

A really simple, soothing piece. I really wish I could rate it higher, because it sure as hell deserves better than -3.

Our NATIONAL TREASURE showing how minimalistic music is done. Probably my favorite piece by him. Obvious pick but still robbed of course.

Spoiler:
I submitted it to Alrighty Roo, didn't perform well there either. Maybe even qualifies for a guilty pleasure but it has some talent behind it and was done in an era where literally everything else was complete garbage.

Submit this to an Estonian walrus and it'd get called the safest pick ever. Don't care much for it to be honest.

They aren't big at all here, decent find. Though, I prefer softer sounding things, these types of bands here often have the knack to absolutely nail it live(haven't seem them though).

This is a band from the region I grew up in. They're the band that most people have heard about but no one can name a song of theirs. I recently saw their bass guy at a party rocking a Nick Cave shirt, guess that's why they have a tendency to drift into darker stuff.

Well it was picked out having mostly your tastes in mind and I did have a big advantage here over most of the others. I think it's still very much a work in progress though. Apart from needing to be a bit faster, some slight mastering issues and maybe a need for some SWEDISH INTERFERENCE with the sound, while that riff is definitely good enough to carry a whole song, I don't think having like three tracks for the vocals, playing the guitar higher and hitting the drums a wee bit harder really cuts the mustard for the chorus. Mainly because you run into lots of trouble if you wanna replicate it live. Like here's an example, it'd work much better if they had someone else female on the band who is mic'd up almost as high and could come in on the chorus.

We're looking at how things are scoring too, tons of options for most categories are already lined up though, so you can count on us. A. Pärt scoring like that might make some people reevaluate a certain category that's coming up.

So now you're sure how well replacement level brit-pop will go in a category that should have been a lock for you under any circumstances, we can expect you to throw that knowledge away and actually wim it up? idk, maaan, irdk. call me cynical ...

ldo, I was the one who submitted answers the second tranch of categories before the reveal of the first one had started.

but I have no interest/incentive to submit/read/rail these threads when the very few people who are capable of choosing reasonable music decide to waive that capacity on a regular basis
Spoiler:
because of the scoreboard

Our goal with delaying our entry with our 2nd batch was obviously to narrow down EBs tastes more so we can introduce him to music which he might like more, conveniently that also works for THE SCOREBOARD, beauty of the walrus.

And I have all of our first batch songs down as elite. If you're hating on Frankie Animal then
1) lol
2) why take it out on Nick? He had something lol latvian in mind originally but once he got paired with an Estonian that got obviously veto'ed.

ldo, it's on you that you couldn't find anything better than Frankie Animal. (Or possibly on Estonia, if you prefer.)
However I assume that beyond the specific choice of song the strategy is one that Nick approves of - as per his sub-Morricone in the last round of LKJ's reveal.

Are you saying eyebooger has bad taste in music? Is that why you're outing?

I'm not following LKJs game but if Nicks STRATEGY is to green light fun tunes to people who like fun tunes then where's the harm.

Langhorne's soundtrack was my most genuine submission in LKJ's game. It's something I've had in my Walrus playlist for a good while but haven't submitted it to anyone because I thought few people would appreciate it, or at least not as much as I do. Of course it both scored bad and now you've made a snide remark about it three times.

I don't mind the trolling, but I don't know why you're getting genuinely upset at not liking my songs or why you expect to like them in the first place.
